  • Install iTunes and then visit the apple store / apps there is plenty of info for you there plus all the free games to.

See bbc/iplayer for missed tv shows, these are in mp4 format and radio broadcasts, in mp3 format.

Look up some podcasts too at the Apple store. The iTunes makes downloading much easier for you and will update automatically.
  • FYI you can only stream iplayer programmes while connected via wifi to the internet you cannot download programmes to the iPod touch.
    It works very well though.

That's not quite true is it. I watch on the underground with no problems and well away from any net connection.

iPod touch has no internet connection of it's own. You either have an iPhone, even then I doubt the ability to get reception underground.

You are more than likely watching video stored on the device not streaming, huge difference.

If you're into football and don't already have Sky, then I think that Sky Mobile TV is a killer app (Mobile TV costs £6 a month which I think is reasonable for Sky Sports 1, 2, 3, Extra, News and ESPN). Sky News and Sky Sports Centre are also brilliant. BBC iPlayer and TVCatchup (www.iphone.tvcatchup.com) saved as bookmarks on your homescreen are great. There's also rumoured to be an app to download programmes from iPlayer coming (called Rewatch), but I think this may have stalled for the moment. Stanza is a well-reviewed ebook reader with a catalogue of free books. But as everyone says, just browse through iTunes to see what's available-the reviews are usually fairly reliable!

google iplayer downloader only one site near the top - poru??

    Thats all you need. sweet.
