The problem, from a private buyer's perspective, is that loads of people sell cars with a list of problems and say "easy fix". I always end up thinking "well, if it's an easy fix you fix it and then sell it."

Having said that, I would buy a car that had no MOT if I could see for myself what needed doing and believed it was worth it.

As i have done and will do again....as long as it starts! ;)

However, it's most likely to be bought by someone to break it.
  • ebay is the best way to go. the first £100 bidders will be scrap dealers (if you list it check the bidders feedback and you will see this to be true) if the car goes for £100 or under they will come and collect it on a tow truck and hand over the cash no hassle here at all.
if it goes for over the £100 it will more than likely be a private buyer who either wants to car for parts or wants to fix it and use it or sell it on repaired. again there will be no hassle here as the guy will have an idea of what he is doing.

where you will get hassle is if its in running order and some joker decides he wants the car but then decides when he comes to see it its not what he expected and then trys to haggle on the price (or insert any other private car sale story here).

the op sounds a bit skint to be honest so an extra £50 to £100 on ebay is worth the time listing it on ebay. if you call a scrappy they will usually come and take it away for free some only offering £50 your way or as most ive heard of offer nothing your way, just rid of the car.

on ebay you will be garaunteed around the £100 mark.

ive sold a few cars on ebay and a few freinds have also sold cars on it some non runners and theres never been any trouble. list it honestly and you wont hanve any trouble.
