TalkTalk Pro - Yay or nay?

'Pete wrote:;30177303']So many hear bad press about TT and jump to conclusions, most of the bad press is outdated.
My experience with TT was exactly a year ago. And hell would have to freeze over before I gave them the chance to completely screw up my communications again.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Both. Every company is the same.
If you have limited choice and they're at the right price then go for it.
Personally, I'd use O2, Be, Sky, Plusnet, Post Office and only consider TT lastly. I don't find TT all that cheap any more but if I wanted their ADSL2 product and had no choice then -well I'd have no choice..

Evening everyone,
I was just browsing through the forums to just see if anyone mentioned TalkTalk and the absolute dire service they provide and lo and behold I've just found all the above comments. My experience is very recent - over the past 2wks. I was previously a Tiscali customer who was very happy with their service but then TalkTalk bought Tiscali out and it now feels like a jumper that is fast unwinding with no chance of stopping it. I cannot believe how bad they are and they just don't seem to care. You cannot get to speak to the same person twice and I've even written to Nigel Pearson who is supposed to be their Senior Director of Customer Services - only he has had the manners to even acknowledge my letter, let alone reply. If the company I work for performed like TalkTalk, we'd be out of business. I'm now going to vote the only way I can and that is leave. I was with Virgin before but see they seem to be also getting bad press. I'm interested in the person who said other providers won't take you straight from TalkTalk - any more details on this anyone? I don't want to be without my broadband and phone but the whole business with TalkTalk is stressing me out!0 -

If your line has been LLU'd by TT, then you will need to go back to BT before you can move your broadband anywhere else.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Not quite. I had exactly the same problem, then BT !!!!!d around too, and I got a new line (albeit with a new number) with broadband from the Post Office. Apparently harking back to the old GPO days pre BT, the PO still retains the right to supply lines.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

The PO 'install' service is carried out by BT Openreach, and is part of the BT network. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
