Seller won't let me bid!

I have less than perfect fedback, but have explained I think,so am wondering why a seller refused my bid on an item.

If I post my feedback can you tell me if you would accept me as a buyer, and if it's worth opening a new account.

Many thanks.

    Go ahead and post it.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Can you post a link to your feedback page so we can look? It will be easier than trying to understand the above!

So you've had feedback from 5 people, and 2 of those people left you negs. That's 40% of your activity making people unhappy with your non-payment, so your feedback score is 60% with a rating of 1. I note that you've had feedback recently which is positive.

As it was a specific event, I'd possibly give you the benefit of the doubt (assuming I believed you). But if the person you want to bid on won't have you, then I'd leave it - no point getting into having second accounts etc. I don't know if they will have set an automatic % limit on buyers' feedback, so it would automatically exclude you?

I actually sent the seller a message explaining the reasons for my low feedback before I placed the bid, and got a response saying please don't bother.

I actually have 7 feedback, 2 of which are neg. does it only count within the last year?

Best leave it and try to find a similar item elsewhere. thanks.

No - if you bought two items from the same seller at the same time, it counts as 1, I think. Negs don't have a time-limit.

Yeah, I'd look elsewhere. At least you got a response for him/her, even if it wasn't the one you wanted.

is it advisable to contact sellers before bidding to explain my poor feedback , it seemed courteous but is it a waste of time? thanks.

I think its best to win some low price items to increase your feedback. I'd consider letting someone with your feedback bid on something low priced but would not let them bid on anything of high value.

Look for sellers that are new themselves, they dont tend to stop people bidding.

Edit - just read your post, I'd say dont contact them unless it states that people under 10 (or whatever limit they set) should contact before bidding.
