Also remember that the National Lottery is beneficent; you might not win anything, but you can feel that your idiotic quest for an early retirement has helped charities. That's not why people play, but still, it alleviates guilt, in a way.

The national lottery is the same as any form of gambling in my opinion! YOu know you dont have much chance, yet you'll still play!

Either way, people that play KNOW that they dont have much chance, so why are you posting on this board? This is NOT helpful to students. this is NOT a great moneysaving scheme to students in my opinion.

Stop spamming the GOOD FORUMS! *anger*

That's why I said DONT play the lottery - read the sentence - the actual words in it.

    ?

I didnt accuse you of playing. Thanks for reading my post.

Either way, there is no point to this post. I dont think many people really think they're likely to win it. People play in hope. They no they dont have odds but they play in hope for £1 and to be honest, for £1 every now and then why the hell not?

Either way, its a stupid post. Its ridiculous in fact. Waste of posting space.

To be honest lewt.. ive seen so many of these stupid posts and just ignored them.. im now seeing people complain so thought i'd join in.

And as for the point of doing it here, its to get him to try and post more meaninful posts.

If i do it somewhere else.. well, thats like protesting for a hunting ban outside the Czech embassy :)

Have you seen the number of threads by the OP!? Have you taken note of how many the mods have had to remove!? The OP is not just having 'a moan' and i think mercilesskiller is expressing the view that many users on here have.

As regards to the thread.... well there was another thread about cheap smoking.... well if you can save £104 a year with the lottery, I know of a way of saving a hell of alot more with smoking.

Talking about the lottery, our Paper Shop at Uni had big signs up before the end of term pleading that the students play the lottery. They went along the lines of "Please use our lottery or we'll lose it" because they weren't making enough on it for the Lotto people to see it financially viable. I hate that they were basically encouraging students to (in my opinion) waste money, but the fact they had these signs up proves that most students had got wise to how unlikely you are to win and chosen not to play the lottery which shows the gradually increasing logic of the student minds at my university.
