Vivienne Westwood return policy question

in Consumer rights
Bought a £600 bag from Vivienne Westwood as a birthday present for my wife on Friday.

Gave it to her today and she doesn't like it

Can I take it back for a full refund

At the time the shop said it can only be returned for a credit note?

Is this allowed?

What are my rights?

    Try the search function, using the word "refund"

    Suppose it make a change from "SOGA" or "Secret EU Law" :)

    If you change your mind, and the bag is not faulty, the seller does not have to give you a refund.

    By the strict letter of the law, they do not even have to give you a credit note. By giving you a credit note they are exceeding their obligations.

    Always a bit of a risk buying a woman a bag unless you're certain she'll like it. Buying a £600 bag is a big risk.
