Vivienne Westwood return policy question

Bought a £600 bag from Vivienne Westwood as a birthday present for my wife on Friday.
Gave it to her today and she doesn't like it
Can I take it back for a full refund
At the time the shop said it can only be returned for a credit note?
Is this allowed?
What are my rights?

This area of the forum is getting so repetitive... Yawn....
Try the search function, using the word "refund"
Suppose it make a change from "SOGA" or "Secret EU Law"

If you change your mind, and the bag is not faulty, the seller does not have to give you a refund.
By the strict letter of the law, they do not even have to give you a credit note. By giving you a credit note they are exceeding their obligations.0 -

How charming !"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -

Selling a handbag for £600 shouldn't be allowed, no.thelibertinedream wrote: »Is this allowed?

Always a bit of a risk buying a woman a bag unless you're certain she'll like it. Buying a £600 bag is a big risk."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
