Yes, vauxhall have the vectra, astra and zafira dualfuel and volvo do one, think its the sc60
Re Vauxhall,
But it's not factory fitted, it's fitted after production by an outfit called something like millbank. It's no better really than a good private conversion.
Dunno what Ford or Volvo do
and I dunno if any of them still offer LPG or CNG cars now anyway.
Re your question..... AFAIC the best taxi is an LPG converted estate car. You'd need to ask your licensing authority if they have any special conditions for LPG such as size of tank etc. With an Estate you can chuck a big 120litre cylinder tank in the back and still (with the right estate model) have enough room for 4 suitcases.
The most important thing is to get a good recommeded installer, another reason you don't want a "factory" Vauxhall is that they all come with doughnut tanks which won't get you very far, you'll be forever filling up. With a 120 litre tank you'll be doing over 300 miles round town and up to 600 miles on the motorway without filling up.
Now That's not to say don't get a Vauxhall, I like Vx and they will convert nicely and be reliable as the next car, cheap to buy. Just don't be blinded by this idea of 'factory conversion'. Don't worry about it being a taxi, it will cope, it will drive all day everyday on gas........... I know.
The most important points for you are
Your licensing authoritys rules on LPG conversions, tank size, certificate required and what sort of certificate?
Your nearest LPG supplier and what the prices are and if you get a discount for being a taxi
Finding your best local installer (and don't be blinded by the LPGA ones either)
Your Insurers requirements for a conversion, certificate required yes/no? if yes what sort?0 -

VERY strict on LPG. Factory fitted (or vaux dual fuel factory fitted somewhere else:D) perfectly acceptable, no q's asked. Same re insurance thats the only reason why I wanted one made as a LPG not converted,0
