Need the opinion of OS-ers

Guys,

I've posted a thread here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=228898

about virtual wedding invitations because we can't afford real cards and plus I think it's a huge waste of money and paper.

I could do with some honest opinions on what you would think if you received a virtual invitation since OS is the board I spend most time on, I trust your opinions!

I wouldn't be in the least offended, just really pleased to have been invited!:D

However surely you will have some people who don't have computers or e-mail addresses? If so a nice little hand-written note would be good. The ones who get the e-mails can print theirs out if they want a hard copy!

There you go, that's my opinion, for what it's worth.:D

I agree it is a complete waste of paper and money, I would send a virtual one when I could.

Its not as if someone is going to refuse to come if thats the only invite they get.

I'm planning on printing out the invite for those who aren't online. Although there's not many of those, even my 87 year old grandad is computer literate and online.

i think its an excellent idea! i would think that people would be much more likely to rsvp by sending an email back saying yes or no, with paper invitations i tend to find that people often dont bother to rsvp.

I do not see anything wrong with that.

    You are saving the plant
    saving money
saving time which is something you are short of when planning a wedding.

Yeah I'm really proud of him!, although it does get annoying when he fiddles with settings that don't need touched and I have to fix it. Still I'm lucky to have him!

I've just thought perhaps an online community isn't the best people to ask if they'd be offended to get a virtual card, perhaps I should ask some technotards too lol :D

True:rotfl: But you have said you'll be inviting very few that don't have access. Anyway, anyone should just feel honoured to be invited to share what is such a special day!:D

I wouldn't care if my invite was on the back of a bread wrapper if I got one!

I thionk it is a great idea invitations can get so expensive and then there is the cost and hassle of sending them and writing the addresses. if someone is bothered by it I would see it as their problem as it is you that is getting married.

if there is someone you think might not like it,then print them one.
My SIL was invited by us in an invitation we sent to MIL,FIL and herself as one and she wouldn't come because she didn't get an individual piece of paper.
