I think it's a great idea. Much easier to reply via email too.
You could go one better & set up a web page with wedding details on it, map to the venue, link to local hotels if needed, gift list if you're having one etc etc & all the other info that gets included in the wedding invitation these days. Then after the event you can post a few piccies on there & a generic thank you. Sending out the invites by email also sets people up to expect their thank you note by email too!

Then I have to say SIL must stand for silly/selfish/self-centred/-in-law!!!

What a paltry attitude to take! Couldn't she just say, " I know I'm being silly, but I'd really love an individual invite if you don't mind?" If she wanted it as a keepsake for example.

We have a domain already for fun stuff at https://www.houseoflies.co.uk and I could just creat a sub domain and have all our arrangements on it.

I misread your domain as house of flies!! Just been there, wondered what's this got to do with flies, had a laugh at your lies, and only caught on what I'd done when I got back here!!

In view of the fact I've just demonstrated what an idiot I am, feel free to totally disreguard my previous opinions!:D

I've added my yes vote to your original thread. If people are offended they can stay at home & your special day will be more fun because of it.

Some people seem to take pleasure in looking for imagined offence, life's too short to let them bother you.
