Will new cars be cheaper when scrappage ends?

I've paid £100 deposit on a Panda Eco for £6800 at Arnold Clarke but the price has now gone down to £5400 at other dealers and even on FIATs website it is a special offer till the end of March.
Is there anything I can do at this stage? The finance is through FIAT so if I pull out now and go with another dealer could that cause problems? Do I just have to live the fact I got my timing wrong?
its showing £5995 on fiat website
looks like you paid £800 too much. im sure after this special offer ends it will come down again by about another £200. this would mean thats the £1000 fiat would have given off during scrappage.
i hate to say it.... infact i won't bother.im sure inactive will take great pride in saying it to all those scrappage buyers who thought they were getting the deal of a lifetime.:rotfl:...work permit granted!0 -
I have specified metalic paint which is a £400 option that is why I am paying £6800.0

Your title says it went down by £400, but the text states £6800 down to £5400- £1400.
If it is £400 I'd be inclined to write it off as an expensive lesson rather than the hassle, but for £1400 I'd be looking into it more.0 -
The car was £4995 on the scrappage but I could not qualify.
Some brookers had it on for £6000 but they all told me that there is massive delays and I couldn't even arrange finance yet etc. Arnold Clarke said I could have the car for £6400 and I may be in luck on delivery times, I said I wanted the met paint (since I will be having the car for a long time) so that put the price up to £6800.
Now FIAT are doing them for £5995 which would be £6395 so it is basically £400 cheaper.0 -
A brand new Fiat Panda Eco basic model could be had for £4995 before the scrappage scheme started, Fiat are having a laugh.;)0

Yep but raw materials and exchange rates have meant prices have changed a lot. You could get a C1 for £5k a year ago, cheapest price is now well over £7k.0
