Royal Mail stamps torn when purchased
jazzy
I purchased x3 1st class stamps from my local post office today. When the cashier handed over the stamps I noticed that they were ripped. I questioned her about this and she assured me they were ok to use. But I have my doubts and I dont want to use them just in case they are rejected in the mailing system.
So please could someone confirm that they are ok to use? Picture below shows the damage.

I would be inclined to believe what the Post Office told you.0

Don't post anything to me with them, I would not want to end up paying the excess!
They could be used stamps and the torn part is where they were franked in the mail (not saying they are but would not want to chance it)0 -
I'd have pointed out that I wanted a discount for getting only half the stamp!0

TBH i wouldnt see it as an issue
its a small postion and theres no franking on the stamp and its going to be held on by its own adhesive0 -
Not really an issue - the stamp is detected and postmarked by a machine looking for a phosphorous coating on the stamp - it uses its location to turn the letter the right way round for the postcoding operator as well, although now they have machines that can read typed postcodes and maybe some written ones. Possibly the delivering postie will be the only human who sees it before delivery and he/she is massively overworked to care about 10% missing stamp.
Whats strange is that they didnt just give you 3 untorn ones instead as you were concerned about it.0 -

It doesnt look like the OP originally kicked up a fuss, just asked if they would be ok and the cashier said yes so the OP went away.0 -
Why on earth did the OP not just ask for some more stamps ????
Instead of going away and then spending 20 minutes posting on here ???0 -
