Incapacity Benefit: A Change in your Account Details

Hopefully someone on here can put my mind at rest a wee bit, at least to stop me going totally doolally before Monday when I can phone my BDC.
Was checking my post earlier and noticed a letter from JCP regarding my Incapicity Benefit, it reads:
Dear Miss xxxxxx
Regarding Incapacity Benefit
A CHANGE IN YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS
Your account details have recently been changed. This means that future payements will be sent to your new account.
I usually receive my IB benefit, paid directly in to the bank, along with my IS every 2nd Thursday (was changed from a Wednesday a few months ago). I 've checked my online banking and there's an IS payment made yesterday for the IS part only, the IB element (typically the highest amount) is missing.
The last payment on the 4th Feb has gone through ok at the full amount.
None of my circumstances have changed, had the same bank account for 4+ years, and certainly haven't changed my National Insurance details.
Does anyone have any idea what the letter is referring to, and why this would affect IS paying my IB payment?
Just a bit worried about any delays in payment causing me to incur bank charges when my DD's come off next week. I purposely have them set up to go out of the bank to suit when my fortnightly payments have been received to save me any worries.
Any help/reassurance than anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

Drat!! When I saw a reply from yourself DX2, I thought my prayers had been answered and I'd been given a logical/ straightforward explanation to a common problem.I'm sure there'll be one, I'll be damned though if I can think what it might be.
Should've known that any query from me could never be that easily answered. :rotfl:
Acch well, at least I have some wine in the fridge, that'll help me not to stress too much tonight at least, just the rest of the weekend to go. lol
Thanks for replying, your help on these forums is much appreciated.0 -

Regarding Incapacity Benefit
A CHANGE IN YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS
Your account details have recently been changed. This means that future payements will be sent to your new account.
I had that very same letter (BR2200) a couple of months ago. Like you I feared the worst, someone had stolen my identity and transferring my benefits to their account.
What it was, I had applied for my State Pension to start two months later. That letter informed me that my file (my account) for Incapacity Benefit was to be transfered to the Pension Service. It did not refer to my bank account, but to my account at DWP. (I had to phone to get that information. They admitted the letter was rather confusing.)
Is your Incapacity Benefit due to be transferred to some other claim?0 -

No, I'm 33.
The 76 in my Username refers to the year I was born, not my age, sorry for the confusion. I didn't think of that when I registered.bengal-stripe wrote: »I had that very same letter (BR2200) a couple of months ago. My letter has the same BR2200 signature, if you could call it a signature.
My details are; 33yrs old, been ill for more years than I care to think about (ok, 7) . My details haven't changed for the better one bit, now for the worst, that's another story...
The only form for my IB I can think of is my latest IB50 - had it renewed ok until 2012. Now it makes sense.
Reading it for the umpteenth time, it didn't make sense for it to be my bank account, I did wonder if 'account' meant my DWP account, i.e my national insurance No. (hence my 'joke' in the first post). That seemed unthinkable though, until now.
I'll know more on Monday.:)
ETA: it's obviously any can get targeted.0 -

No, I'm with Clydesale.0 -
It isn't necessarily a fraud issue, it could be a genuine error. At least you are acting quickly, so if there is anything dodgy going on they can stop it now (hopefully before any money is paid out incorrectly).Gone ... or have I?0
