    If you could install the remote desktop software, it's like controlling the machine yourself, so that may still be an option.

    Thanks rmg. Ive spoken to him and he said antispyware found 55 incidents but they all looked like just cookies and there is no change in the problem.

    Im going to try to talk him through malware.

    It's straight-forward enough.
    Install the program (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware)
    Update it (3rd tab along, I think)
    Run a full scan.
    Wait for it to finish.

    Yep, I know how to do it rmg, it was getting it over to him. :)

    Anyway, just to let you know, fixed it now through logmein. What a wonderful invention that is :) Many thanks guys.
