nasty virus called W32.Myzor.FK@yf

recently had an attack by a nasty virus called W32.Myzor.FK@yf
my home page kept going to some dogdy security site offering a fix ect...
I'v got McAfee AV and fire wall but it still got in. I'v managed to sort out my home page problem but my PC is running very slow and it drops off the net occansionally there may be somthing still lurking within. Dont trust McAfee.
I've been told there is a hijack scan I can do?

I wanna get it sorted without ripping the guts out of PC.
Anyones help is appreciciated

    If you already have AV and Anti-Spyware installed then restart your PC and boot into Safe Mode (press F8 when your PC is booting to access the menu).

    You should then run your AV and Anti-Spyware tools and remove any threats.

    reading up on your infection download and run this

    Use:
    • Extract all the archive content.
      Folder.png
    • Search:
      • Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
      • Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

    • Clean:
      • Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
      • Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
      • Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
      • You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
      • The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
      • A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

    then go to the malware thread and follow the instructions for downloading and running "Ewido" and let it clean up your PC while in "safe Mode" as instructed
