I've been enjoying Aldi beans for years, despite people who turn their noses up at me for doing so: "Oh I can only eat Heinz".

Well Asda was doing a special on a 4 pack of Heinz my wife bought some and I really didn't enjoy them. Loads of juice, beans were smaller and not as tasty.

So which do you think are best?

    I haven't tried the Aldi ones so it's heinz by default. I'm on a brand called Amore at the moment from p0und5tretcher at 9p a tin. they taste pretty good though the sauce seems a little thinner than heinz.

    Last tin I had I flavoured them with lots of curry powder, some coconut block and raisins and had them on toast. I've still got around 20 tins in the cupboard. :eek:
  • Oh I much prefer the Aldi beans to any other brand, I too tried Heinz during an offer but found them runny and a bit soapy in flavour so quickly went back to Aldi and used the rest of the heinz up in stews and things where the flavour could be disguised a bit.

    I have a cutting on my desk (don't ask why) from the News of the World.

    A survey was done on different beans. The results where:

    1 = Branston (63p)
    2 (joint) = Aldi Corale (29p) and ASDA (44p)
    4 = Morrisons (44p)
    5 = Heinz (64p), Morrisons Value (29p) and Tesco (44p)

    (Prices are from the paper)

    I personally prefer Branston beans over Heinz anyday. I have never tried Aldi ones and at 29p I will buy some next time I pass.

    Maybe you should add "other" to the poll.

    i like both really,
    im a big fan of beans!

    i try them all, all supermarkets own brands etc but hienz are my all time fave, but i dont only just eat hienz beans, i still try/eat others
  • Aldi
    My daughter was raving on about the Aldi beans and how delish they are, so I gave them a go and now I don't buy anything else but Aldi beans, the sauce in them is really creamy.

    Dont like Heinz beans. I prefer Branston when I can, haven't tried Aldi as they dont stock a huge range

    Very limited choice OP

    Not even a choice, I dont like either or another brand

    Haven't tried Aldi, but Morrison and Asda cheapies (not own-brand) are better than Heinz and they defintely weren't a few years ago (very slight favourite is Sansbury full-fat own-brand).

    Another vote for Branston you can often pick them up for 4 for £1, I buy loads of them when on offer
  • I'm a Branston beans fan too. Does anyone know where they are on offer at the moment as my stockpile has run out and can't face 64p per can?

    Might give the Aldi ones a try this week
  • My family tend to be Heinz snobs & swear they know the difference. However this evening they had Asda's cheap 44p ones & no one batted an eyelid :D
    Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
