Halifax Online Banking website problem

Just a heads up.

The Halifax Online Website has problems this morning. (19.2.2010)

It is showing that details entered are incorrect (when they are).

There is a message on their phone line saying they have problems.

I have spoken to Customer Services and they say wait a few hours and try again.

Don't bother doing what I did and reset your password, because it has no effect.

    Phew! Glad its not just me then!
    Triple checked that Capslock wasn't on, made extra sure I was typing everything correctly etc. Had a feeling something was up as I'm pretty sure I've tried to log in enough times for them to freeze access (normally).

  • The guy at Customer Services said some may get online, others won't.

    He thought it might be a couple of hours, but not certain.

    I just don't know whether to use the new password they sent, or my old one, I'll just have to suck it and see.

    The first 3 times I tried it told me that my details were wrong...but the 4th time it let me in - so if you know your details are correct I'd give it another go!

    Working for me now too.
    I did notice before that the log-in page didn't seem to complete loading (looked as if it had, but the progress bar thingy was still going) - maybe that was something to do with it?
  • So far this morning...my day has gone as follows:

    1. Got up late - PANIC!!
    2. Needed to login to Online Banking to make sure I had been paid and to transfer a sum from savings. Couldn't login even after multiple attempts...PANIC!
    3. Phoned Automated service. Got through to someone who said "Sorry sir their seems to be a problem with your accounts...PANIC!!
    4. Oops, sorry sir. My mistake. "Can I just take some security details before we continue?"..."Can you tell me the amount and place of your last cash withdrawal?" PANIC!! I can't remember as I can't login to check...PANIC!!
    5. PHEW! Got it right. Transfer made, Salary recieved...all good...PHEW!
    6. Tried Internet Banking again...All ok now..PHEW
    7. A call from the Technical department at work. A systems upgrade that I am managing has just gone pear-shaped...PANIC!!
