When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :D

Morning all,

Hope no one minds me starting the thread.

Today I will:

Check online banking
Go to work and work hard so the day goes fast
Enter loads of comps
Post test items back to Survey people
See to pets
Take rubbish out
Shower rather than bath
Look for jobs
Ring my nan & mum

Hope everyone has a good day!

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

    Morning all!
Really yukky day here - cold, foggy and the remnants of an overnight dusting of snow. Not fun doggy walking weather...

Anyway, I'm currently catching up on a few episodes of Easties as I type ready for the big one tonight.

    Today's list..
    • Walk dog for free exercise (done one, wasn't nice)
    • Write loads of lessons
    • Try on jeans I bought yesterday and decide whether I really do like them - if not they're going back
    • Do another job app
    • Have a NSD (or a LSD at the minimum)
    • Stay in tonight and have a soap marathon!
    • All food from stores
    • Paid CC bill - the day it came out!
    • Checked banks
    • Done a March budget
    • Write a shopping list for tomorrow - needs to be a teeny one
That's it for today - have a good one!

I can confirm that tonight's episode of Lost contains scenes of Sawyer with half his buttons undone. Another thing to get excited about. :)

I'm excited about Eastenders too - I have been thinking about betting money on Becca being the culprit, but now I am not so sure. I think I will kick myself if it turns out I was right!

I had a petty frugal day yesterday. We went out for lunch and I paid using my survey LVs.

Then last night I had planned on renting The Invention of Lying from the DVD shop, but then found I could watch it online for free using some Blinkbox codes. :money:That was a result!

Still not sure of what we will do today but it is a lovely sunny day today, unlike yesterday so we will definitely get out and about. Have a good day, L x
  • Morning all :hello:

I used to contribute to this thread a loooong time ago but kind of fell by the wayside! However I've now found myself single after 8 years and currently having to pay both a mortgage and rent, which is doing my finances no good!! Combining this with other expenditures means I've been haemorrhaging money at a frightening rate over these last few months, so the time has come to start charting my daily achievements, in order to give myself a boost and get my spending back under control :T

    Soooo, todays list.....
    • Check online banking
    • Daily scratchcards - will do when I get home as can't do them at work
    • Write a Dooyoo review - must get back in the habit of these!
    • Check for surveys
    • Update my "debt list" - last night I paid my friend £10 off what I owe her
    • Work out a provisional budget for next month
    • Finish packing as moving to new flat next week
    • Take bag of stuff to charity shop (the good thing about all the current upheaval in my life means I've had a great chance to de-clutter! Made a load on ebay last month, plus I have less stuff around me!!!!)
    • Write 500 words of my novel in my lunch hour - want to get back into this too as been crippled with Writers Block for months now
    • Have a LSD - just need veggie sausages and gravy for tea to have with potatoes and veg that I already have
    • Enter at least one competition
    • Phoned mobile company about my price plan - its been costing me between £60 and £100 a month and I've been meaning to phone for ages but have been so disorganised that I hadn't done it. Really nice man on the phone was horrified that I was on such an outdated price plan - he changed me to a new plan for £20 p/m with 300 min free calls and unlimited free texts, plus £40 credit which will pay my bill for the next 2 months. Score! :j
    • Need to phone the nasty bank about my loan - I paid it off in full with a new loan last month and cancelled DD but they took another £200 off me this month  . I phoned at start of week and they were meant to get back to me but not surprisingly they haven't. I NEED that money!!! Grrrr.........
And thats Friday. Have a good day everyone and enjoy your weekend  xx
