OH has asked me to find out how much he will be entitled to if the company goes into insolvency and we have to claim from the National Insurance fund but I am struggling to find out exact figures.

He is 45 and has worked there for 21 years (I know that it is capped at 20) his weekly wage is above the £380 maximum statutory limit.

I am trying to find out:

How much Statutory Redundancy pay he will get
How much notice period pay he will get

    things really arent looking good:o

http://www.direct.gov.uk/redundancy.dsb has a nifty calculator - he should get a fair whack of money though!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Thanks Cat but that one doesnt cover notice pay and is it the same amount if the employer cant pay?
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Meetings all day with "people in suits" and they are keeping very tight lipped. One of the supervisors asked a member of the SMT what was going on and he was told to mind his own business:eek:

My OH is a lower level manager there and they are being kept in the dark along with the rest of the workforce.

When I worked in the general anaesthetic clinic removing kids teeth the pile of extracted, decayed teeth at the end of the session always looked like popcorn!

There's a few more pages of use on there: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/RedundancyAndLeavingYourJob/Redundancy/DG_10026616

I'm sure I've read somewhere that if your employer goes bust the government will pay out BUT I can't remember where I've read / seen this!

    Afternoon everyone.

I love popcorn, but always manage to get the shells stuck between my 2 front teeth!!
In other news, work have failed to pay me correctly for the 2nd week running. Last week I was short, this week I am up, but by more than what I was short last week!! go figure!!

Next week I am back in school for 2 days so work drops back down the 3 days. Need to re-assess my time in school since I didnt get on the course this year for PGCE. Not sure I can afford to be there 2 days a week unpaid for another 18 months just to reapply in September for next Septembers intake (IYSWIM)

We are still waiting to hear on the house, and I am off out to work again tonight. I really dont know what to do about my teaching *confused smilie here* as my stupid stupid debt is hanging over me forever :(

Sorry to be negative, but I'm not sure where to turn today.

Much love all you lovely people xxxxxxx
