Black gutters or even brown available will look better for longer, but ALL pvcu will fade and get brittle as the oils within the vinyl deteriorate in sunlight. £1300 sound a bit cheap to me, but average seems to be around £45-50 per mtr. + downspouts etc: There are different qualities of plastic, to cheap quotes means cheap products. Plenty of roof-coaters and roof-line out there.

I gather the Everest guttering system comes with a twenty year guarantee in white. I know this because some salesman came round only tonight!

I am seriously considering having them in for a quote because if it's anything like their windows it will be great. My nan had some of their windows put in in 1979 and has never ever had a minute's trouble with them. You'll probably pay a fair bit more but the quality will be superb.

You couldnt post this because if you had a everest rep round tonight he would still be there  some smaller cheaper companies use the same profile as Everest and as a Ex Everest window fitter i know they are not the greatest windows (although the fitters are fantastic ) sows purse pigs ear :D But dont let all this put you off they are a reputable company and will do a good job when they say for the price you agree on without drama.

Got a quote last week from Anglian Home Improvements for a four bed house and double garage. Sofits, barge boards, guttering and edging over the tiles on the gable ends. Ten year guarentee.
Quote came out at £5709 with all discounts etc.

The woodwork and guttering are not exactly dropping off but I am past the point where climbing up ladders etc is fun. I used my newly aquired bus pass for the first time yesterday so think that it may be time I got other people to do these things.

But that is a great deal of money and is infact about half the cost of moving into a smaller house.

How do you find someone who is reliable and will do a good job with this sort of thing.
