    Someone earlier mentioned £20 for a brake fluid change - absolutely no chance. The £20 may buy you the fluid, but then you have to get the old stuff out and the new stuff in. Without boring people to death, this can take a long time.
    I think both brake fluid and coolant changes after only a few years sounds a bit excessive, unless you have an exotic sports car.
    As for telling if they have been done, the only way is to keep a small sample of each before the car goes into be serviced, and compare it with the fluid which has been "changed".
