Can you give us more details about your dehydrator? I'd never heard of this before but now I'm intrigued. I Googled it and see there is a very wide price range so I was wondering about yours and also what sorts of produce you have dried.

    Thanks

Cant believe its been so long since I posted, Ive had a really busy month and havnt had much time. Good to see everyones progress, its such a productive time of year for harvesting, we are eating from the garden every day right now.

We have blight on our potatoes and some of the tomatoes, I looked at the blight treatments but they look far to scary to use in a garden where my son plays. Despite not treating, I harvested the first 3 potato sacks that were the worst hit and have plenty of potatoes which look and taste fine. I still have 5 sacks to harvest but they wernt so badly hit and after chopping off the affected bits they seem to be recovering. Tomatoes I will have to wait and see, the blight doesnt seem to be spreading further but some of the fruits have gone rotten. I do have some which are ripening properly and taste lovely so ill just have to see how i go with them.

Pumpkins are going well, I have one which is about the size of a football! It seems really difficult to make sure the pumpkins and squashes are being pollinated, Ive had loads drop off and rot. It just seems as if the flowers dont open for long enough.

I love your pictures garnetlady, you garden is lovely.

I took some pictures on monday so ill try getting some posted.

oooh lunar, I'm so jealous of your butternut squash! I can taste them now *drool* - will be coming to you for tips on growing these next year!!! Thanks for all the pics & progress reports everyone. Have been v busy harvesting toms & onions etc. and making things for the freezer, and fighting botrytis from all the dull, damp weather up here. Missed a few courgettes that turned into marrows; had a go at making marrow & ginger jam but ended up making toffee instead of jam :)

garnetlady - your toms look fantastic! As does your garden you must be very proud!

lunar - same as izzwizz very jealous of your butternuts! Mine were eaten early on so try again next year.

Fab to see everyone is doing well, my potatoes really didn't do well this year. Off on my jollies now so have to hope that everything at the allotment is okay and we have a bit of wet weather here. I'm sure I'll have that kind of weather where I'm going!
