we are getting about 4 cucumbers a week from this plant.

Oh youve got one of those 'strengthened' tunnels. I think theyre great, good room height and plenty of room. Can hide in there when weathers bad:rotfl:. Ok that was off subject but still .............:o

Any one growing peppers? Are they easy to grow?
My little girl loves peppers and asked if we can `make` some :)

I am growing peppers this year in a plastic greenhouse I sowed them in March and they are now between 1 and a half ft and 2ft tall lots of flowers so hope the will turn to peppers in the near future, I grew some outside last year and only got 2 peppers of each they did not do very well I think they need to be kept under cover or inside the house somewhere sunny and warm not an expert but sure someone else will have some better advice
Oh you could try to buy a fully grown plant from a garden centre and start from there

Izz... I don't think I could stand another winter like the one we had this year.... My poor bones couldn't take it!

Tell me about it! I've never known weather like it, but everyone here tells me it was unusual to be THAT cold. The weather's really weird at the moment. When the Sun's out, it's roasting - then the clouds come over and it get's really cold (yoyoing between 23C & 14C). It's hard work keeping on top of the mould in the greenhouse in the damp weather. I'd rather have the problem of watering in the Sun!!!

Three open courgette flowers today. Have coated them in a herby batter and deep fried. Very tasty. Looking forward to eating courgette eventually.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Did you eat the males or the females? I would like to try eating some of our courgette flowers but I don't want to pick the wrong ones and things not be pollinated as a result.

Two males and one female. The courgette behind the female flower (fat stems) was already about an inch long, and the other plant only seems to have male flowers on it (thin stems)

All still going well, had Peas, Beans, salad leaves, radishes, tayberries, blackcurrants, raspberries and gooseberries so far so doing the Food budget a lot of good. Been a bit wet and windy here today so a bit worried about my Peppers, will need to move them to a more sheltered spot I think. Good luck everyone.;)

Went out in the pouring rain and high wind last night and carried the tomatoes into the kitchen!!!!
Couldn't bear to lose the tomatoes to the awful weather. They are getting bigger, although not ripe yet.
We live in the High Peak and stormy weather is forcast for the next few days!!!
    Kind Regards Tatton Lady
