I've just got a sim card with £10 credit on it. My main phone is on contract therefore I have no interest in spending the money on calls or texts as I will still be paying the same for my contract phone, and not making full use.

I have seen some of these sim cards go on ebay for £3-5 recently, and was thinking about putting it on there, however does anyone know of any other options where as much as possible of the £10 can be converted (possibly via £1.50 texts) into something useful. I don't want to buy ringtones or wallpapers etc, or sign up for football or horoscopes.

I've come across this sim card, as I spotted an opportunity to buy a cheap mobile (with £10 credit) and (with quidco cashback) get the money and a bit more back via recycling, leaving the sim card with £10 credit left to sell.

  • How about donating it to a charity? like a dog rescue, you could either give them the sim to use the credit or some charities let you text them and they take lik £5 off you sin card, plus be doing something good too :)

You could use it when you go abroad. Two advantages:
    1. You're avoiding spending out money that you would otherwise have to give to your contract provider.
    2. If the phone be lost or stolen then it limits your liability to the cost of the handset.
