Hope you have a lovely birthday. I don't suppose you could post you recipe for the brownies? They sound yummy!

Hi Freaky :) I haven't made them before, but I will certainly post and let you know how they went. If you have a brownie recipe you usually use, you could just add the chopped-up raspberry ruffles to that :) I was also tempted to chop up the made brownies and mix into chocolate or vanilla Swedish Glace (you could use ordinary ice cream) to make a HM version of Ben & Jerry's Bohemian Raspberry, which is mine and Dh's all-time fave ice cream!

Sunny Girl - That doesn't sound mad at all. I can never work out whether that sort of churning excitement/nervousness is pleasurable or distressing lol. I am sure it will be really interesting, good fun and give you a great sense of achievement/independence. I hope all goes well :)

  • Hi everyone, we are going away for a few days to visit my parents, so having a couple of meals out there, and then home cooked mum food :j
Back on tuesday night, but flight gets in quite late so may just have a pizza or chinese, depending how we feel, then wednesday night we are going out for dinner as its OH birthday
So my meal plan is a little short :rotfl::rotfl:
Thursday-shepherds pie with brocolli or kale (this is homemade-but frozen in its dish in the freezer, am working late :()
Friday-tuna, pasta and sweetcorn bake (will try and get it made on wednesday when we are off so is ready to stick on on friday-am working late again :()
  • Judging by the contents of my freezer I think it's going to be a chickeny week next week:D

Mon Chicken, Coriander and Peanut butter curry with rice
Tues Chicken stuffed with Soft Cheese Wrapped in streaky bacon, sauteed potatoes and veg
Weds Pesto Crusted Salmon with lemon and garlic roasted new pots, roasted vine tomatoes and veg
Thurs Spiced Mango Chicken Thighs with Spiced Pilaf
Fri Lamb Balti Biryani with HM naan ( rice 2 nights in a row might cause some mutiny!)
Sat Steak( from Valentines Day) with mushrooms, salad, fried onions and HM wedges
Sun Roast Chicken, potatoes veg and yorkshires.

I really should start organising freezer better.

    Good morning everyone

I'm determined to be a little bit more organised this week and I'm aiming to clear space in my freezer so that I can do a big shop mid week. I am finding that it works out cheaper to do an online shop every 3 or 4 weeks and then top up with fresh stuff than doing a weekly shop of everything.
Anyway better get on so here I go

Mon Sausage, mash, veg and gravy
    Tues Quorn chilli
Wed Pork steak with roasted potatoes, carrots and parsnips
Thurs Home made cornish pasties, mushy peas and gravy
Fri Sweet and sour quorn and rice
Sat Egg and home made potato wedges
Sun Sunday roast (not sure what sort next)

Breakfast will be toast or cereal
Lunch will be sandwiches or soup or spagetti on toast

    This is the plan anyway
    Have a good week everyone

I decided to have a no meat week, just felt a bit meated out. But work is completely frantic - Monday I have a meeting that doesn't even start till 4, then on Tuesday we have a big revalidation event that has my boss running around like a mad chook. And I haven't finished my marking yet ... So it also has to be easy things.

Saturday: trout koubliac with green veg
    Sunday: vegetarian lasagna
Monday: leek & courgette frittata, tomato salad
    Tuesday: pizza with various toppings
    Wednesday: vegetable soup, cheese scones
Thursday: baked fish with a crumb topping, green veg
Friday: prawn curry for grown ups, veg sausages & chips for children
    Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600
    Overpayments to date: £3000
    June grocery challenge: 400/600
  • Here's my mealplan for the week. It's really busy here, but I've managed to get this done this morning and I feel all virtuous for doing so. So here goes:

Monday - Homemade pizza. I'll use whatever's left in the fridge. We're having a roast chicken on Sunday, so I might mix a little leftover chicken with some barbecue sauce and have a barbecue chicken pizza. mmm
Tuesday - Mum will be cooking for us. :)
Wednesday - Omelette day. I think I'll do an Italian-style frittata for a change.
Thursday - Chicken and bacon pasta bake with crusty bread
Friday - Toad in the hole
Saturday - Minced Beef Pie and mash, veg and gravy
    Sunday - Lamb Tikka Kebabs

Have a good week, everyone. :)

All though we have been sticking to meal plan it has not necessarily been in day order, however now the kids can see the list stuck to the fridge they are less likely to complain about unknown meal infront of them or how they had not known what was for tea and how much they dislike meal.

Sun - roast beef with trimmings hm

    Mon - winter cassoulet hm

Tues - Sloppy joe bake (pinched recipe from here a few weeks ago)hm

    Weds - lamb casserole hm

    Thurs - Jacket pots

Fri - Sweet and sour chicken hm with rice

Sat - Chips and something lurking in the freezer.
