Yep, it says it in the template letter, they can charge up to £10 for providing you with your old statements and/or details of your charges. It actually says in the template letter to just send off a cheque for £10 with your first letter so things aren't slowed down by them writing to you and asking for it. As for the signature, absolutely no idea! Think you need to call them about that.0

Hi there
As Matt also says...
And there is a SAR letter template here to help you through this:

Good luck, they have 40 days to comply with this request. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hiya
I'm also trying to claim PPI from Capital One. I've just had to send my second letter to them with a copy of marriage certificate and they requested my married signature and a signature of my maiden name....I haven't signed my maiden name for years so I'm expecting a letter back saying its changed to what they have on file although I don't know if they have my signature on file in the first place...dare say time will tell.0 -

I hate it when they request for these details!
How the heck can they expect something where you don't sign with your maiden name anymore, we don't always keep these type of paperwork around the house, its more like a stalling tactic.
So when you taken out the finance with Cap one was this before you got married, if you don't mind me asking?;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Yeh I had taken the finance out before I got married, I paid off and cancelled the card just over 3 years ago. I feel its stalling tactics too. They should be able to see from my address and the fact I explained in my first letter due to marriage my name had changed. The fact I quoted my name then and my name now I thought would've been enough. I have enclosed a copy of my marriage certificate but they insisted I had to sign both my married name and maiden name....crazy really! Its a crazy time of the night aswell but I can't sleep for Capital one, freemans, welcome finance etc going round and round in my head! lol

it's definately stalling tactics, afterall you have been signing your married name on your card which has been accepted no doubt.
just play the game with them, but each time you write to them remind them of the amount of time they still have left after your initial request,
so if for a SAR, its 40 days from first request, if its the ppi complaint, its 8 weeks from your first complain, then go to the fos when the deadline is reached if they haven't satisfactoraly dealt with your complaints and requests.I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
Twinkledust, I agree with robbedofmymoney here in regards of stalling tactics, and they should accept what you have already given them, so somg good advice there from robbedofmymoney, and also contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) as well, explain to them your situation, they should be able to have some advice for you on the best option here too good luck.
