Capital one

  • Hi. Do you think they may be asking for your previous signature so they can superimpose it onto an agreement?

We are about to write to Capital one ourselves as my boyfriend recently realised he had PP1 on his credit card. He knows he didnt ask for it and wrote to them cancelling it and saying he wanted a refund of charges. They replied that as they had taken more than 4 payments he couldnt have it and it would have been sold over the phone.

Any ideas on which letter we should use on this one. Do we have to go down the SAR route or should we just write a full complaint asking when taken out etc?

    Thanks

Hi newdawn. I certainly hope not, it would be very silly of them in the first place as I have exact copy of the letter and signature I am sending them therefore any agreement with that exact signature I would know as I haven't been signing that name for years and I know its prob changed slightly. More fool them if they do but I doubt it :)

I'm unsire which letter you sould send, I dare say it depends on the content of your boyfriends first letter to them? You could probably send them SAR letter if you wanted copies of all documents etc....I think thats how it works. I'm sure someone will reply soon who is more up to speed than me, I'm just learning as I go along with help from wonderful people on here :)

I hope you get it sorted out soon

Hi Twinkle, I`ll keep an eye on your thread if you don`t mind, as I`ve just requested the same from Capital One and they have wrote back and requested £10 (fair enough) and a signature, as I signed my request digitally, also a utility bill as I`ve moved house since taking the card originally.

No problem BASSETT I think they are going to try and stall at every possible turn! lol
I will keep this thread informed on my progress and if you could let me know how you get on with them also I would appreciate it :)

    Good luck with your claim
