While we're on the subject of Helion, did anyone get any of the jobs that were being allocated out Monday? What was the report like to complete?

very nice chap on phone. He told me there seems to be some kind of glitch in the system (who'd have guessed). He's going to have to ask tech support why I hardly see any jobs and why the computer refuses to believe I own a cat. She even tried to type her own response. Very computer literate moggie is Daisy.

But for people that are trying to make a profit, I cant see how RE is the way to go about it.

Well for me RE makes me a profit on most jobs!. I live less than a mile away from town so I can walk on a good sunny and dry day. If I do have to drive into the town centre, parking is free for me always. If its a retail park job then parking is free again. To me the reimbursement is fantastic. 99% of the time I can choose something that I'll use or give to my parents/friends. I think about what I can buy before the MS. I can keep them for birthdays or christmas etc.

I had to do an electrical shop last week with a good reimbursement and fee. No parking fees and was on the way to another job. Took me 20 minutes. I chose a wii game upto the maximum reimbursement. This is going to be used as a birthday gift for my daughter.

I do tend to stick to my home town but sometimes if Im going to my parents at the weekend I will look for jobs then that fit in.

I suppose a "good reimbursement and fee" means different things to different folks. If you calculate how much time you actually spend on the assignment including reading the brief, printing it out, going to the venue, conducting the visit, taking the picture, returning home, entering your results & downloading the picture (with usually great difficulty if their system is playing up), then I think in most cases an RE fee would be about 25% of the minumum wage. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And 20 minutes? Are you including all of the above in that timeframe? It usually takes me much more than 20 minutes to do the bleeding report!

Thing is, some people look on MS-ing merely as a means to get free stuff. They don't do the job properly, they make up the answers, they walk past a shop assistant, make a note of their name and description and then get home and write a complete work of fiction as to what that member of staff is supposed to have said, done and recommended. (and I'm not saying millierose does this, but I know for a fact LOTS of people do)

And if the reimbursement covers a cheap computer game, a burger or a cup of coffee, then they tend to think "Hey look what I got for free" and don't stop to think about how much time out of their day it took them to get it.

Have they actually been allocated yet? They're all still on my assignments that I can apply for (the ones I didn't apply for anyway). Due date of 28th.

If they have been allocated I didn't get one, but I can't find any way to see the ones I've applied for and/or delete the applications.

I think I've mentioned this before but different people have a different value on their time. Personally I'm 23 with no kids and no hobbies that take up a lot of time, so I'm quite happy to spend a couple of hours doing something either for 'free' or for little money. I wouldn't be doing anything better with my time! That doesn't mean I'll do anything, but it does mean that in the right circumstances I don't mind doing it.

    I do it properly though!

Oh, not sure then. I thought the 'assignments available' email said not to set the date for 15th as that was when they were being allocated out, but I've deleted it now so my mind may be playing tricks.
