    Hi.

Thank-you jc2703 for your reply. I will indeed ring them in the morning.

Sorry, Ive another small question to ask......

On the form it says that I can take off expenses. Would car parking, petrol, and printing paper be classed as those? how much would I be able to claim on this?
40p per mile, 6p per sheet for printing, parking whatever is attributable to the job. Don't forget internet usage, mobile/phone costs etc

I've done 6 of these so far. I've been typing up the list of all the brands from the previous survey which is attached on the briefing. Then printing these out and checking them off when in the pub / restaurant / hotel / cross-dressing nightclub ;).

The old surveys haven't listed out all the wines, but when they've had a wine list, I've written down a copy of this as it's easier than spying them over the bar. They want as much detail as possible, so list all the different mixers / champagnes etc.

In general, they are looking for what the bar has on display, they won't let you go into the cellars anyhow but as I said for the wines it's straightforward to list them all. Then when I've done that I ask the bar staff anything that isn't clear, e.g. the name of some bottles on the back row which I couldn't see or the sizes of the soft drinks in the fridge.

Be warned that if you are taking up any of the staff's time then they might refuse you permission, so try and do as much as you can without asking them. I only had a couple that were awkward but they both said they didn't have any time to spare so definitely wouldn't have stood there and listed them all for me. But there were others were they were more than happy to help.

Good luck, I have found these quite hard work, but getting some of the paperwork done in advance by typing up the information that I had made it a bit easier for me I think.

Thanks for the info cte111. Turns out I cant do it anyway as my 5 yr old has come up with chickenpox this morning, so will have to finish my main work early all next week to pick up his sister from school. My one was is south Manchester and if I remember rightly you are based around this area? I'll release it in the morning (along with all the others booked for next week!), so if you want another one, it should be there for the taking.;)

I did several of the liquor jobs and have to say that I felt "mis-sold" the job by the company that allocated these. They clearly said that we were to carry out product availability audits with letters of permission from their client. If I had know that they were pure market research and that I was going to be nothing but a pain to Licensees then I would not have accepted these jobs.

Also a little more info on the project that we are involved in wouldn't have gone a miss so that I could have answered the basic questions of what I was doing there and how it was going to benefit the Licensee!

I was a bit nervous about this especially when i saw the state of the place.Felt like turning back.
But it was ok, i asked for the landlord by name because it was on the previous audit and it went on from there.

Go at a quiet time and they should be ok with you.Barmaid/person made me a coffee and sorted out a problem with my phone while i was busy.
