If I were you, I would complete and pass the burger test! You aren't commited to accepting any burger jobs but my understanding from reading previous posts on here, is that the company bribe you to do an urgent job by offering extras in return!

Saying that however, I believe the client is hard work and if you make a mistake for them, GYP will sack you.

They are not as hard work as RE IMHO and the questionnaires are mainly tick boxes. Fees are similar to RE (abysmal (sp?)) but a better hourly rate because they only take 10 mins to do lol.

As far as sacking goes..... making a mistake doesn't really come into it, many have been sacked for no apparent reason. Some have lasted years & others months...... no rhyme or reason I'm afraid.

Gyp get desperate to cover burger jobs (can't imagine why :p) and will offer around 5 other good jobs to cover one burger. However, you do have to accept the burger job to benefit! If they only offer a couple of good incentives.... ask for more :D.

    Hi,

I'm a total newcomer to MS, having only discovered it today on this forum. I'm looking to increase my income a little each month to help clear debts. I have a full time job already so MS might be a good option. I'm well organised, literate and hardworking. However, I am limited to evenings and some weekend work. Is it inappropriate of me to ask how much I might earn if, say, I took on 10 assignments a month with GAPBuster? I appreciate I might not get much at the outset while they checkout how good I am!

    Thanks.

It is inappropriate as fees etc can not be discussed as we agree this when we sign up to each Company... But as far as I'm aware unless you are being offered 'rush' jobs constantly by Gap your fee will be the same as the rest of ours.. regardless of how 'good' you are... Many other Co's do pay better but you do have to prove your worth adn gain some experience first.. keep reading the thread past and present...

Oh no, I agree what you are saying about the questionnaires. I love Gaps as they are so much easier compared to REs! I meant more that their particular client appeared to be hard work judging by some of the comments on here in the past.

I just wanted to show my appreciation to those that give advice on this board. Even though I have been mystery shopping since last summer, I am still constantly learning about this profession and appreciate the tips given on here. I had a begging call tonight asking if I could do a couple of urgent jobs next week and luckily I could since I have a day off from my full time job. Thanks to some comments on here, I was not shy and had the courage to barter with the caller to get an increase on the fees. Extra fees were given!

Well done you, go for it, bet it felt good to get the increase in your fees.
Its abit like doing a 1st shop for a new company, & its more like will they or won't they.
There will be no stopping you from now on, gets some of the 'crap jobs'done cos they've got to be done by somebody & pays a wee bit extra.

Gosh I am becoming such an accomplished liar. I did a fitness place where you buy trainers. The guy said it was to check which kind of runner you are?? He asked if I had been trained and I fibbed and said I had been a champion at one time. And had been West of Scotland tennis champion. Well remember I did put in my tips thing to think out and rehearse your scenario.

    Liar liar pants on fire!!!!

So he put me on the treadmill and said I was a natural athlete and was fast for my age. That I had a sprint type run. Ooooh I was flattered.

Hope the bloke's CCTV didn't extend to the car park where I had a fag to celebrate the fact I haden't just collapsed with a heart attack.

God that treadmill is brutal. He switched it up to real running speed not jogging like I was expecting.

He said I was really fit for my age!!! Me the original couch potato.
Just catching up with whats been going on today in the world of msing and read your post. Hilarious!!! I have a mental vision.
Reminds me of a trip to Pontins one year when the footie match between the Bluecoats and the kids came to a halt halfway through the first half so the goalie, who was a Bluecoat could stop for a fag! Not very pc but was so funny!:rotfl:

Interestingly I've found that the people I speak to have been very kind to me. Even if I accept a job without too much bribing (e.g chicken jobs that I don't even see on the system that I'm happy to do) I've found that they will end the conversation with "thanks very much, I've added x number of petrol assignments to your account for being so helpful".

So you don't have to necessarily push for the incentives as they will still reward you even after you've said you'll do the job for them.

Also RE have added a small fee to their previously feeless pizza jobs if anyone is swayed by that.

Ok my suggestion, when someone mentions a clients name or posts on the alert thread, I find the 'kinder' way of telling them is to PM them just saying 'oops wrong thread, or please take out clients name :) '

Instead of flaming them on here, (and yes I'm no angel, I've done it!!!), but we were all new once and make mistakes, but with a kind word we don't do it again and are encouraged to keep looking and helping this thread!
