Claim compensation from Comet, any hope?

First of all, let me tell you that I am profoundly deaf.

The problems I encountered starting from when ordering a fridge-freezer and cooker from Comet:

    1. Around mid June we (my girlfriend and myself) ordered online for the two mentioned appliances.
    2. Comet called "to prevent fraudulent orders from being made" to us, but since both of us are profoundly deaf we could not answer the phone.
    3. Delivery date passed with no delivery, so we got my girlfriend's mother to ring them. Comet said they delete record of order(s) if no one confirms the order.
    4. We re-ordered, confirmation now made through email now that they knew we were deaf. Fridge-Freezer arrived ok. Cooker arrived in damaged condition. "Got damaged from warehouse" said the deliveryman. We prepared to wait for two more days as agreed.
    5. Comet now cannot deliver cooker because of fulfillment issue with Indesit - maker of cooker.
    6. We now have to order another model. We ordered another model.

By that time I wrote a letter of complaint to Comet, they more or less were like "don't shoot the messenger".
I complained that by the time the 2nd choice cooker arrived we'd have gone through one month without a cooker. I asked for compensation, they offered:
Delivery time of 8am to 12noon.
    Free connection.

One month without cooker equals to 720 hours. Are they seriously thinking I would be satisfied with the whole rigmarole by taking off 6 hours from the normal delivery day?

Cooker finally arrived one month and 2 days after the initial order. Electrician who came with the deliveryman said he could not connect the cooker because there was no spur switch.:mad::mad: Couldn't they have checked with us before sending out an electrician?

I want to write back demanding this and that, I will let the matter settle only if they compensate us properly. How to do that?

Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm on the verge of exploding because of their callous attitude.

    Thanks

    Matt
