Probably best to get Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student for ~£60, which can be installed on up to 3 computers -

However you can't use Home & Student for commercial use. Quite how they'd ever find out I don't know but it would be naughty to use it commercially and we couldn't possibly condone that sort of behavior

    Did you install it?;):)

You'll need to run the setup files which can be found in the folder you chose to download them to. (Possibly the desktop?)

Apoligies if you've done this. If so, it should be in Start>All Programs>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Word.

Revised Office 2010 price list Probable release June/July

Office Home and Student 2010 - £110 (£90 for Product Key Card)
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Web Apps
    Office Home and Business 2010 - £240 (£190)
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Office Web Apps
    Office Professional 2010 - £430 (£300)
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Office Web Apps, premium technical support

Microsoft is introducing a new Product Key Card scheme with Office 2010. This will see trial versions of the Office software pre-installed on new PCs, which users will be able to unlock with a code purchased from retailers or Microsoft itself.
There is, however, a catch with this new system. Although the Key Card codes are cheaper, they only include one licence rather than the three that come with the boxed versions of the software.

You sure those aren't the dollar amounts? Or are Microsoft assuming the exchange rate is 1:1?

Just before I read your reply, I realised I had to install it :) It seems to be taking forever.......
I do still have 2007 (I assume this was a pre-load on the PC) will 2010 just override that or will I get to choose?
  • It can take up to half an hour to complete but on most machines, should be faster. I know that the full version of 2007 gave an option before it started installing whether or not to keep old versions, and from what I understand the 2010 beta keeps the old version unless you uninstall it manually.

Thank you, but I have just got so fed up with the whole bl**dy thing I have taken it all off :rotfl: I want paper and pen back (and yes I know that is a dangerous thing to say on this board :D )
too tired now, will try again in the morning I think.

Yes, you're right - sorry. I should have read up on the licensing requirements, and not assumed that it was 'only a name'...
