Confused about Microsoft Office-which to go for, from where?...

Title says it all :rotfl:
I need Office as I am starting a new business, but I have no idea where to get the product from. Is it something I can download or does it have to be CD?
I need Word Excel and Outlook

Probably best to get Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student for ~£60, which can be installed on up to 3 computers - but doesn't have Outlook, so see if you can get away without it. It comes on a DVD, so far too big to download! Outlook separately would cost another £74!

Office 2007 Professional will cost you at least double the sum of the above...

Microsoft is introducing a new Product Key Card scheme with Office 2010. This will see trial versions of the Office software pre-installed on new PCs, which users will be able to unlock with a code purchased from retailers or Microsoft itself.
There is, however, a catch with this new system. Although the Key Card codes are cheaper, they only include one licence rather than the three that come with the boxed versions of the software.

Thank you. I seem to have word etc on my PC (purchased 6 months ago) that lets me open approx 25 times, then requires a product key, is this the same thing?

Fully-functioning but time-limited (October 2010 I think); no caveats and same feature-set but it is Beta (but it's 'trusted' given the monumental number of downloads - it's not going to ruin your machine Lol).

And what happens in Oct 2010? Do I get the option to buy, or do I lose everything? I truly am clueless

Edit: This one (huge) caveat perhaps, although I personally have running both Office 2007 and 2010 Beta without any problems:

Uninstall any previous versions of Microsoft Office. We highly recommend that previous versions of Microsoft Office be removed from your test machine before installing Office Professional Plus 2010 Beta.

I would also suggest that you have a read here

The beta version of Office 2010 will expire in October 2010. Users can choose to download the trial or buy the full version of Office 2010 at that time.
