Allowed costs for IVA

I've had another go at a budget for my IVA, using the CCCS Debt Remedy values so hopefully someone can provide additional input as to what I'd be allowed, as obviously I want the lowest payment possible.

  • They will tell you how much to pay....you can't "fix" it they will see your pay slips every 6 months and P60 every year and will want proof of all your big outgoings (rent, car, bills etc)....forget about £50 for the gym....wouldn't let me have even £30....

    With me it was £240....that was all of my surplus. Then after my HP on my car ends 2 years into it, they want that money added on too.....

    Anyway I think it's worth doing as I'll be debt free in 5years.......and I've been let off of £10,000 of debt too.......

    Never again will I get into this mess! Unless I have the money to spend in the first place....

    You could include 'meals at work' - its not a lot however it all helps. I agree with the above regarding the gym membership I suspect that won't be accepted. You could also include the cost of a Pre Payment Certificate for prescription charges, it works out at £10 per month.... and dentist/optician could be listed on its own.

    I'd also recommend going through this with CCCS over the phone as I found this really helped. They will provide guidance on what you can reasonably list.
