I dont see anywere it says the offer will only be accepted if they are entitled to the code.
It says the offfers will be accepted and the codes checked and the extra charged if not. It doesnt set a timeframe for this.0 -
From their t&cs
If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis, e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.0 -

I have not read the t&c's fully, but I would be very surprised if a judge would enforce such a clause. It goes against the most basic principles of contract law - the retailer accepted the offer of the consumer at the price agreed at the time the contract was formed. The retailer cannot then go back and say 'oops, we don't think you should have used that code six months ago, please pay us more money'.
I placed an order before Christmas using a code (I don't normally do catalogues, but they had a price that was too good to be refused). If they contact me to reclaim the discount (although I think I fulfilled the conditions attached to it) I would be willing to challenge them on it.
Gone ... or have I?0 -

Someone else has posted this from their T&Cs:
acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the Code has been issued to you personally,0 -

That's interesting, bearing in mind the other terms that have been posted previously. they say that: "acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the Code has been issued to you personally", which would suggest that if they DO accept your order, then they are satisfied that you are entitled to use the code.0 -
I had the same problem with them and after a lot of arguing and shouting on top of my voice on the phone, I had all the chargebacks removed but my two accounts were stopped (Good Riddance anyway) so I only had to pay off my original balance. I did use codes from discount-codes-websites but my argument was that if they knew I wasn't eligible for the codes then they wouldn't accept my order. To me, acceptance of the order suggests that they have accepted everything that binds with the order.
Also regarding eligibilty, I have used some codes in the past and got this reply "Sorry, this promotional code cannot be applied to your order." So that means every code that went through fine was applicable to my order and that means I was eligible for it.0 -
Hi
How did you manage it? Ive tried to be nice, get clever, raise my voice, threaten go to court etc, but they wont budge!
Now they're claiming money back for 'returns' that were originally ordered using promotional code.
Its making me ill, any advise?
