Hi, I'm on holiday in Andorra. We bought a vodafone sim card with credit on. When we landed in France they sent a text saying the rates. O2 did the same. When we entered Andorra the o2 mobile got another text, contract phones just got rates, pay as you go got a message saying dial a number first to make a call. Vodafone sent no text :(

we have tried making calls but get a number not know message. It can send text and receive text. It also receives incoming calls.

So, does anyone know how to make calls from Andorra on a vodafone pay as you go sim card? It's just so fustrating we bought this sim card and credit for this holiday.

Any help or info would be great

It should be the standard, drop the 0 from the start of the UK number and replace it with +44

    i.e. 0113 555 1234 would become +44113 555 1234

We did that (and also tried the 0044 format) :(

I did notice that with o2 pay as you go you had to dial a number and they would ring you back asking you to dial the number. I think it may be the sane with vodafone, but without a welcome text we are clue less.

Have you tried the Vodafone eforum by any chance? They're usually pretty helpful on there. Access it via the VF website, or Google Vodafone eforum.

Good idea Tony, looks like the answer is on eforum:

"You might need to type *#123*00447836000000# replacing the middle bit with the number you want to call.
Once you've called that 'Requesting' will be shown. Shortly after you'll receive a call back which you just answer to connect your call. The cost will be for outgoing call (even though you've technically answered a call)!"
