Finding this thread very useful as I am on the hunt too; decided to spend more but hate doing that without knowing if I'm going to be disappointed again! Personal recommendations are best.
BTW, my repair man says Dyson keep him in business...0 -
How are henrys on pet hair?
We have real wood and tile floors, and a small amount of carpet (but mostly hard floors), with a dog......so pet hair is the big thing for us!
Looking around, but can't really find anything suitable that's not outrageous money! We don't want to get a dyson - have had some real horror stories from them (really not reliable.....)

Ive got 3 cats & over the past couple of years ive had 4 vacuums. Id highly recommend a henry, its really good & has lasted well. I got mine from very using a £30 off code which are available at the moment for new customers. I also got quidco at 8%. Think i paid around £56 in total.0

Henrys get my vote, they are brill getting up my cat hair.0 -
Yes they are good at picking up pet hair, my daughter had a white cat, a cream sofa and a black boyfriend, who's hair collected all the white cat hairs, he looked hilarious with his white furry halo. Henry did a grand job of cleaning him, the sofa and any other stray hairs.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

i brought a recon dc5 dyson about 5 years ago still going strong, i love it infact im thinking of upgrading to another sleeker model, but there around £100, i wash out the filters and it dosnt use bags, never stops picking up untill its Full, everything on it is washable. i would recomend any day.0

I just bought this http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/596418/HOOVER-TS2360001/tab/askandanswer?cm_ven=AFFILIATEWINDOW&cm_mmc=AW-_-HotUKDeals-_-links-_-generic#askAndAnswer
It is very powerful and has 420 air watts which is really good. It is bagged, like the Henry and having used both I would say this was better. Also has a turbo brush too. I am sure you could get it cheaper if you did a search, got mine instore though.

I'd recommend Meile. It is a larger outlay but definitely worth it in the long run.
I'd had less expensive vacuum cleaners at around half the price, which at the time I thought was reasonable, but they were false economies. I've had it about 3/4 years now and it's as good now as it is on the day I bought it0
