Inspired by a magazine article which I read over the weekend I am going to set myself up with a challenge for the next 4 weeks.
The Challenge is :
In the next 4 weeks I must not spend any money on any of the following :
1. lunches ( should be ok if I am organised)
2. Magazines ( WAS my weakness but have not bought one in ages)
3. CDs /DVDs ( easy for me but this is DH's weakness;))
4. Takeaways
5. Eating out
6. Entertainment
7. Alcohol
8. Groceries we do not need ( meal planning is therefore essential)
9. Clothes
10. Makeup/Tolietries
11. Haircuts
I will review my progress ( & DHS:)) at the end of each day and report on here as to how I have got on.;)
Wish me luck

That's quite a challenge: I was weak today and bought some jeans..... In my defence, they were reduced to £12.50 and have a short leg length, which I can't always get, so I tend to snap them up when I can. In fact they are a duplicate of a pair I already have - not sure if that makes it better (means I def like and will wear) or bad (means am slightly OCD).
May have said this before, but at risk of repeating myself, am former mag junkie myself but now use my Tesco vouchers to subscribe instead - it's a good way to get a year's use out of them!

Goodness ........no pressure then 40SM - but good for you to have the idea and even put it to paper...I would still be procrastinating about thinking about having some goals! (They are also GREAT ms goals)LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
(CC/LOAN = [STRIKE]36,378.98[/STRIKE] 35668.47. O/D = [STRIKE]1255.32[/STRIKE] 1212.35/[STRIKE]1999.78[/STRIKE] 1934.52, BUS = [STRIKE]9769.76[/STRIKE] 8714.98)
Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84
There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

I agree it does look like a long list but TBH I don't spend a lot on some of the items ( takeaways, eating out etc. ) My hair has not been cut for months and months so is now verrrry long. Do all DFW have long hair ?
This just makes me focus on the things I do spend money on and therefore think about every penny before I spend it .0 -
