    Aww, thank you...

and thanks for keeping the home fires burning (SB - can I say 'home fires'?)

:oTBH...I didn't read the confidentiality clause before signing so I don't know! Hardly posted because I thought if any dimwit posted something they shouldn't it was likely to be me, so glad it was you! :p

I think basically, if you didn't see something shown on the One Show...zip it! Happy, BILLIE & MIGGY....sort him out will you ladies! ;)

    Being serious for a moment...

Mike as much as I'd been desperate to share the events of reveal day, you write SO well, I knew you would describe every detail to perfection. You didn't disappoint! :) A fantastic day that I'll remember for ever and can't wait to see the programme when it airs!

It was a pleasure to finally meet you after all this time as well as your two wonderful boys, if I promise not to fart, I'd love to come back again if there is ever a reunion planned! :o

After meeting you all, it confirmed to all of us that such a wonderful family were so very deserving of our support and the help from the BBC and I hope and wish you every happiness and success in your beautiful home.:A

Your last line of your speech carried the words that lifted my heart but again brought tears to my eyes.

    Love to you all!

PS....DS currently on way home from holiday, had a fab time and actually said he 'Missed Me'! Looking forward to getting him home, coz I kinda missed him too! :)

Anyone frantically cleaning before arriving visitors...hide amongst your mess and don't answer the door! ;)

Anyone needing counselling since watching sad films in childhood...I've asked before if any of the posters were a counsellor, miss moneypenny2k is a life coach and offered help to any nice people, give her a nudge! ;)

Worrying that the thread will disappear at 5000 posts so need to make a point..not my forte but got to give it a go!

RAS made a post about Mike being able to find his own thread and suggested backing off. Well done to those that defended the reasons why we keep this story in view to others.

There have been many other people stumbling across Mike's story that are in similar situations, with the legal system the way it is, what hope is left for them?

butler1882 made a post (#1697) after The One Show was aired and said that even if 1 other person were helped by his story, it made an even more successful story.

JohnnyJet discovered this story on 21.05.10 #2824 and began his own thread, currently recieving support from many of you that has again given encouragement to someone who felt as though there was no where else to turn. If you read #2824 you'll better understand why it was important that he found Mike's story.

Littlemisskitty was spared becomming another victim of Paul Bridle
AngellDelights and yorkygirl discovered that they weren't alone in also falling foul of Paul Bridle

WOL2..different builder, same situation & currently following legal procedures
HellsGranny... Has been a victim of a dodgy builder but the experience was still to painful to talk about
Pebbythedog....Different builder but still trying to recover the money she lost and will be watching Mike's outcome with great interest

Builders have also been ripped off by unpaying customers with no way in sight of recovering what is owed to them Niccatw's dad and mscfsb

Chapter 1 may be coming to an end but there has to be a chapter 2, hope many of you that have been so supportive this far stick with us all in looking for a solution to stop this happening to others.

Great community, good friendships formed and support given to each other whenever needed. It's been great having you around as well as being a part of it, thanks for all the laughs along the way.

Happy....Never feel bad about giving support honey, the only thing that ever overwhelmed me was your kindness and your energy! ;)Bless your heart!

Sorry for ...whatever that was, Thanks I guess!

Hi Folks. Just had a reply from Roger Green of the Littlehampton Gazette to my request for a copy of this week's paper.

" If you give my receptionist a call on Monday, 01903 714135, she will handle your request"

You can also order copies of the photos you want. I think there is a link on the web page.

Have just read Mike's post about the reveal (my bloody broadband was playing up all yesterday) and am sitting here in floods of tears, just so happy for you Mike. There's definitely a book in your story, you have such a powerful turn of phrase, well it sent shivers up and down my spine I can tell you. What a wonderful outcome and what a wonderful team has been created, let's become a force for good and drive the ******** builders out of town for all those people that have had lives ruined x

I'm not sure what more anyone can do, and I am struggling with depression, real poverty and ill health caused by him and living in a wrecked house. I hope something comes along soon.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I started following your story about March time, when the One Show piece was aired and have logged in a few times a week since then to update myself on the progress.

The snippet above from your original message was written by a broken man, and now - with the help and support of everyone who has taken the time to involve themselves and I can't tell you how happy I am to see the new improved Mike that now has his life, a new life back for good.

You weren't sure what more anyone could do... but something did come alone, and now you know the result!

    No one deserves it more...

Oh God, now I'm filling up too...

Thanks everyone for the nice posts overnight and today.

Must get back to sorting boxes of dust and my worldly goods into piles to go to the tip, go into a cupboard (oh yeah?) or to a good cause. This is going take weeks. I am thinking about giving anything I don't need to people who are struggling in the town. Sounds a bit of a grand gesture considering I haven't got a pit to poss in and am trying to eke my benefit out until next week. One thing at a time though. When I was at the bottom I didn't need money, I needed things, and people. (OK I needed money too, but in that order).

Then there's a pile of ironing that's an avalanche danger in the... you know, the garage thing... Fortunately I am at a birthday party tomorrow, with food and everything, so that will force me to take a half day off. There's a big golf game in the afternoon I think, so the roads should be nice and quiet on the way home...

Please don't disappear, we love you and will miss you dreadfully. The thread won't disappear, we just won't be able to add to it & Mike will need to dream up a wizzy new title (or maybe just part 2!) to keep our attention.

I think you just did an amazing job of making your point :T Nobody else can remember the finer details like you and we need you. But if you are looking for employment please consider the job of researcher!!!

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder - lets hope that your son's fab holiday will make him appreciate you all the more :D

Don't forget how to eat an elephant - one bit at a time. It will be the same with the boxes! You just need to make sure you do a bit each day until it is finished, but I hate the flippin mess it makes once you empty a box and then have to find places for the things you took out

Giving things away that you cannot currently use or house is not a grand gesture, it is really sweet of you to think of anyone that could be worse off than you and needs a helping hand :T You know what it feels like to have others generosity bring a smile to your face (or tear to your eye!) so if it feels right, just do it.

And don't mention ironing, it brings me out in a cold sweat just thinking about it :p

Enjoy the birthday party tomorrow and don't eat too much jelly and ice cream or you will get tummy ache. The golf is on after the GP isn't it? And then Top Gear is back so a great day all round me thinks :D

    Hi Janet

Rather than all of us driving the poor girl demented would you be able to scan a copy once you have one?
