I can`t believe we have all got the point where your house is becoming a home :)

em yes, and such a uniqque home at that.....
(not sure Mike will.....what idiot decided on a football theme for the front of the house and who picked those colours for the mosaic tiles?...Way too many animal prints involved too!) :D

I wasn't sure about the animal prints either - after all I think I was the one advocating the skip be left silver - but the random mix of them is, shall we say, unique.
I do love the look of the indoor hanging baskets, though - once those trailing plants get going the whole 2-storey drop will become quite a feature and anyone would think it was meant to be that way in the first place.
No, I didn't really go for the mosaic tiles either but like whatever it was they say in the proverb, they cover over a multitude of sins. :)

Personally I think the leopard skin footballs look great. It's the elephant tusk goalposts I'm not so sure of - & tbh I can't see Building Control being too happy with them - must be a health & safety issue surely?

Mosaic tiles rock (but maybe not in those particular colours, and a mural of Wayne Rooney would give me nightmares I'm afraid)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Not sure I agree with you on the fake fur covered footballs but then again, I've questioned your sanity since you revealed your story of the cotton wool-mouse and hammer incident! :p My kind of logic & my kind of gal! :rotfl:Not likely to ever forget you but whack an addition in your signature anyway and wear it with pride! :D

    Wayne Rooney.......urgh!

Mike, I posted on the thread in the early days recommending you do this, got the email asking to nominate and unsubscribed in error. Life being what it is I never got around to putting it back on until a few days ago when I had a nagging feeling to do in the back of my mind.

Wow. So pleased and happy for you that this nightmare will be finally drawing to a close. I can imagine how overwhelming this all feels for you, the end of that story the start of a new life for you all and a brand new home to boot. Well done for everyone who is helping out, you are all stars, I wish I lived a little nearer so I could [STRIKE]come look at all of those hardworking sweaty men[/STRIKE] help out. :rotfl:

You so deserve this after all you have been through. I cannot wait to see the before and after pics. Your message you wrote about sitting in the cafe sounded so happy and had a contentment to it. The start of a new life mate. Well done, I am so happy for you. :T
  • So happy for you!
I can`t believe we have all got the point where your house is becoming a home :) I would never of imagined this happening when we all first met you.
Everything felt so un-doable, every corner had been met, turned and fallen back.

It is amazing, of course emotions are running high right now they would be.
Love the pic :D and look forward to seeing your new home x

HAPPY.........Don't be sad honey, we felt the same concern and frustration at the beginning of Mikes thread and look how well THAT turned out! ;):)

We'll keep looking for a solution until we find one and support him for as long as he needs it! Keep his thread bumped when you can & let him know he's not forgotton. Keep bouncing ideas around, maybe the right answer will come from someone new seeing his thread! :)

Give him hope! Don't lose it yourself! ;) Positive Vibes honey!!!

Ok, I FINALLY caught back up and popped out of lurkdom. I wanted to say how brilliant everybody on here has been in helping Mike to get to where he is. I can only say that this thread has helped me to put my life into perspective and appreciate that asking for help, as hard as it may be, is sometimes the only way to move forward as there are always people who are willing to put their own woes aside to help those less fortunate.
Mike reading through your posts has been very moving. You started off with desperation and frustration at the situation and I think that you have been through every emotion imaginable. One thing that stands out throughout is your sense of humour. Despite all that you have been through you have managed to remain in some kind of control and get things sorted. Asking for help was the ultimate in controlling your situation. I am sure that your experiences and posts will help numerous people and I see a new career path for you. I dont want to trivialse your illness as I am sure that you still have a lot to deal with there but I sense that after next week you will have a much better platform from which to launch your new life. I am also sure that you will still be supported after the fact in anything you do.
