Mike - Hope you are coping with all the secrecy and are not letting these wind up merchants get to you!
Donny - Sorry the weather in sh1te in Cornwall but it good be a good excuse to come home early and join us

The Nvidia card is a memory chip in your computer which allows you to play games more smoothly (like without freezing up on you when you are killing a dragon or a troll and find when it unfreezes you got killed) and uses less of memory on your hard drives especially if the game has good graphics. They are also known as graphics cards.
Hope that helps.

Can't believe it's finally happening - unfortunately it's a bit of a hike from Sunny Cyprus, so won't be able to be there, but have followed this thread for a while, and would appreciate being kept up to date with events - I promise not to blab to Mike - honest!!
Enjoy the party and your five minutes of fame the rest of you - will be with you in spirit, raising a glass of brandy sour or two in support!!
13Kent, I'm sure we'd all be more than happy to bring the party to you... Do you need any DIY help? Tho I'm better at putting together the alfresco salads myself...
are you off to Littlehampton tooI wants to go
And we wants you there too. You too Happy
.
Matymoo, I've not gone completely mad (at least, not more so than my usual dose), I'm sneaking in a visit to the Isle of Wight. Only my timing clashes with the festival there! Which is making ferry booking a necessity. Which is sending me into a mild panic. Anything might happen on an 8 hour drive prior to a ferry-boarding that I have no control over and might mean I miss the ferry. Which wouldn't be a problem if I were rich. *Wanders off dreaming...*
Poo - did you make it in time? I hope it wasn't too bad!

Evening all.
Happy, sorry to hear your back is playing up - hope it gets better soon. If it's any consolation I didn't sleep too good myself last night. However, my new alarm clock worked a treat and I was up and on the road for 7.15am. Thank heavens I don't have to do that every day! I shall go in early(ish) tomorrow - aim to be there for 9am so I'll be leaving the house at 8am.
Thanks all for the good wishes for me for today. I actually got there at 8am, registered and went to the holding pen where everyone (300 of us) were fed bacon baps and coffee/tea. The day was spent listening to speeches from CEO's, managers of every department imaginable, watching slide shows and videos showing how wonderful and huge our new employers are. Talk about information overload! There was one dodgy moment at about 2.30pm when one of the managers told me I was going to be based at their "hub" in the city. I had previously been informed I'd be based at one of the depots on the outskirts of the city. He must have thought I was a real nutter because my world fell apart hearing this news and all I could say was, "No no no, this can't happen, no no I can't". For a start, I don't have the wardrobe befitting of an international corporate head office nor the funds to buy such. Secondly, all I could think about was selling my car and being left completely isolated from family and friends, unable to do a supermarket shop without someone picking me up and taking me and the extra 2.5hours travelling time on public transport every day! And thirdly, parking charges would take my weekly commuting cost to around £50 per week (not including any car tax/ins/maint costs). Anyone would think I lived in the back of beyond but I don't! Just 18 miles out of Birmingham (probably about 12 as the crow flies). Anyway, he said he'd sort it out for me and about an hour later he came and told me I could work from the depot as was originally arranged! Phew! I wanted to hug him but as he was Senior Management I thought it might not be appropriate especially in front of almost everyone else! I so nearly did though! lol.
So I am now a very happy bunny.
Billie, good to see you back and posting, missed you and sorry you can't come to the reveal, you're one of us who've been in the plot from the start. Thanks for the offer of the early morning call by the way.
Hi Maty, welcome back and hope you enjoyed your time in Scotland.
Mike, hope you're having a good time in your little thistle patch, just be careful where you sit! Oooh you must be so excited! I know I am!
Oh well, catch up in a bit, must go cause mayhem elsewhere!
