    Hi,

I've been a long time lurker on this thread having read it all through when we were at about page 80! I have been following it since on daily email updates.

Just wanted to add my CONGRATULATIONS on getting a positive outcome. It is amazing to see how far you have come from that first original post. I have every confidence that with things moving in your favour that Mr Bridle's time will be coming soon - we all know he's on borrowed time!

Glad that you are getting your whole house done. Really, you deserve it. After proving your mettle by coping with all the poo (not PM, I'm sure she's a delight to deal with, if a little like a whistling dervish :tongue:) that's been chucked your way I think your Karma must be very high and due a payout!

You should write a book now!

Thanks Vikki. Much appreciated. Poosmate IS very difficult sometimes... ;)

I think the book is writing itself!

I am sorting out the contacts from those who kindly offered to help out, be interviewed, or just stand and gaze at Nick Knowles, and they can expect calls from the production team very soon.

The structural engineer was here this morning and there is nothing terrible, but some strengthening steelwork is thought necessary before they start fitting out the interior, and to keep the place upright-ish for another 220 years.

I have also had a spat with the credit card company, who rather spectacularly failed to read the letter they sent me in October. It was an "I suggest you check your facts, young lady, I have things to do..." moment but I didn't have time to enjoy it, and they'll get me eventually.

I wonder what P Bridle does when they call him? Probably tells them he's "a straightforward sort of guy who's had a few problems and he's happy to meet them to sort this out." Yeah, you, Mr B. A little crook who thinks he's kidding anyone... Hope you're enjoying this thread by the way! Everyone thinks you're gorgeous...

Not for a while, but one is coming in the not too distant future. Just as soon as the current excitement has quietened down!

    Elsewhere in the news...

The DIY SOS production people are looking today at the messages from people who have said they are free to help out or be interviewed. They also are looking through the many messages people sent to Simon Knight. I don't know who they will contact or how they choose, but if they call, feel free to chat, or if you don't want to be involved directly, just say so. They're all very friendly and it's no biggy if your situation has changed.

Indeed they are, thanks to you and a hundred+ others who wrote saying DIY SOS should feature my poor little cottage, plus the thousands of people who have made this forum what it is.

Take a bow when you've finished your dance. And thanks from the boys and me.

Hopefully if Ronaldo is coming in his pants (maybe an unfortunate choice of words) we will leave putting up mirrors until the very end as I get the impression he'll be hogging any we put up. Unfair?

    Mike,

is there any chance we could make this thread into a book of some sort, just like vixmix suggested, just to demonstrate the power of this website, and how we could still find a bit of faith in human nature!

    :T

Hello to everybody else on the thread, hope you are all well! :j
