Just so you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth... working through Planning and Building Regulations with the local authority, who are being MOST helpful. All good so far but as my poor cottage is standing in just its pants, it's very easy to spot things that might need attention before the Beeb get here...

I have just checked on National Express Coaches. I took Thursday 17th June as an example and there are fun fares for £12 on offer from Glasgow to London. From London you can change to a coach for Brighton, every route is on a fun fair of £1, £2 or £3. (Journey approx 2 hrs). Glasgow to London is 8 hours. Its cheap and fuss free. When you consider check in times at airports this has to be a simple way to travel. Brighton is only a bus ride away from Littlehampton.Check out the www. Nationalexpress.co.uk for more details. With all this volcanic ash about, the coach is a safe bet.

Wow, finally finished reading this ENTIRE thread - it has taken me all weekend and most of today! Well worth it though, better than the novel I am ploughing through :)
What an amazing experience you have been through Mike, well done for keeping your chin up and a MASSIVE well done to your amazing cheerleading squad on here! Honestly, it gives you faith in human nature :)
Will be watching out for the makeover show (eep, how exciting!!), all the best!

We've got a reader-finisher! They're getting few and far between as the thread gets longer. I may try and re-read it myself when I am banished to the hills during the makeover... Naah!

    Well done and welcome!

I don't have the stamina for the whole shebang but have dipped in & out of the thread for a while (well ok, will admit to getting lost in the thread on occasion, needing coffee & a tow rope to be dragged back to reality). Was absolutely thrilled to bits for you when I read your news the other day. Can't begin to understand all you've been through but sincerely hope that life is good to you looking forward.

    Hi,

I've been a long time lurker on this thread having read it all through when we were at about page 80! I have been following it since on daily email updates.

Just wanted to add my CONGRATULATIONS on getting a positive outcome. It is amazing to see how far you have come from that first original post. I have every confidence that with things moving in your favour that Mr Bridle's time will be coming soon - we all know he's on borrowed time!

Glad that you are getting your whole house done. Really, you deserve it. After proving your mettle by coping with all the poo (not PM, I'm sure she's a delight to deal with, if a little like a whistling dervish :tongue:) that's been chucked your way I think your Karma must be very high and due a payout!

You should write a book now!
