Nothing is better than shoes. No way, no how. Not even Mike getting his house sorted.

I'll need to go and buy another pair to celebrate Mike's good fortune now.

I only caught your thread a few days ago and read the first and last dozen or so pages but just wanted to join in and say I am so pleased for you. I hope that this huge weight will be lifted and that you will be able to go on to regain excellent health.

To all the MSE'rs who worked tirelessly for you - well done :T:T

I've read (most of) this thread from the beginning over the past several weeks and I've been truly blown away.

Absolutely all the best for the DIY SOS thing - you truly deserve this good fortune and am so pleased things will finally work out for you.

You must be absolutely over the moon!

Thanks to you and everyone who's added their congrats. It's a bit surreal actually!

I'm impressed that anyone can read through all this! Respect.

    Mike x

    Pretty name, by the way...

I am so pleased for you and your boys!

Peeps - save me a space in the charabanc coming down from Scotland :)
(Miggy goes off in a little happy dance of her own, thus bewildering her goldfish, who should be used to her by now).

Oh Mike! (Massive and unexpected hug) This is better even than shoes or purple wheelbarrows!

You'd better get tidying up the stray socks and planting those hanging baskets, hadn't you?!

I have serious instructions from the producer NOT to tidy up as they send someone down the week before they start to take establishing shots of the house at its worst. It's like when you have a blood test and can't drink coffee or eat for 12 hours... you REALLY start fancying a bar of choccy and a cup of tea.

I believe I can resist the temptation to clear up. Might even strew a few things around to give that 'unloved' look. Not having had anything on the concrete floors it's been like those mediaeval banquets of old when people chucked bones over their shoulders for the dogs and children to eat. Only in my case, it's a mouse called Neville who I bumped into at 1.30 the other morning when I nipped downstairs for a midnight snack. There was a lot of screaming, and it wasn't all Neville. I wondered why the place was looking so good and swept lately. I think he slipped in when I left the garage door open for a couple of hours.

Cue a few dozen 'how I got rid of my mouse' messages and household hints...

I have a rolled up newspaper handy at all times. Even though I'm not sure if he can read.
