Sue, what does your signature mean? Is it like the ending on the Generation Game?
I have just spied it and will now be thinking of creme eggs for the rest of the night! In fact I might have to go to the nearest 24 hour supermarket to get some!
Haha no its my whole collection of competition wins from the compers board...nothing life changing as i'm not a dedicated comper just every now and again when I have a few minutes...and hardly a staggering amount to become debt free but in the world of Tesco's...'every little helps!' and as I got £7.00 on ebay for the 2 beach balls it paid a tiny chip off a credit card!0 -
I haven't said anything about Bridle's statement on the show about being a straightforward guy who's having a hard time ( thought he was talking about ME!) Or that he wants a meeting to discuss all this... Dom could have pushed him on this but it was added in at the voiceover stage and I didn't get the chance to point out this is what he does.
I think he was OK for a long time and built up some clients who did recommend him. But something happened and he realised he could pay one of us clients off with the other's money. He's just useless at business.
Every time I had him nearly cornered he would suggest a 'meeting to sort this out'. He would turn up, agree with anything, sign anything, admit everything apologise and promise it's all in the past. It's a good way to defuse a situation... roll over and give in. But in his tiny, twisted mind he was just doing what had to be done.
He won't contact me, never has. I don't see what there could possibly be to discuss anyway. I want a jiffy bag of cash or a transfer to my account. He can't and won't do either. I am discussing an approach with someone else who's involved and will probably go for the court hearing to force a sale as soon as possible. Within about 6-7 weeks if I get a wiggle on. Even if the success rate is 0.4% as suggested on the programme, I like the odds. If I don't win, I'll go for another hearing. And another if necessary. I am at the top of the list of creditors and even if others join the list, I'm first. They would only make the court realise there is a problem with the man and he needs a slap.
I don't mind being part of 0.4% of cases that win. It's the same as being part of 95% or whatever. If I win, I win. I have your support I think to go for it?
I also need to get the building regs and planning permission processes started. That will be as much fun as pulling my own teeth out but it's got to be done.0 -

In retrospect, I think you were given completely the wrong information from the start.
As an unsecured creditor you should have gone for a Statutory Demand followed by bankruptcy proceedings. With the amount of equity in the house, cars etc, you would have bene guaranteed something.
It would have cost you however. But when Bindle realsied you were serious, he might well have decided to cough up becuase he had so much to lose.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Mike there was a poster further back who offered to help with the Build. Regs. etc., get hold of him if he was serious I am sure he would help you - keep the ball rolling and don't stop until the end. If you keep badgering the courts you will win in the end and hopefully they will see what this chappie is like. Take care as well xx
SB Thanks so very very very very much - you is truly an angel and its what keeps me going the support of many.

You may be right. But I think I was advised well at the time. The point is about your use of the word 'something'. I was told it would cost between £5000 and £9000 to bankrupt him and that it was a huge amount of work and would take time and other creditors could take the lot - income tax and VAT for example, which I cannot believe he's paid. That would have left me with around £13,000. Maybe. Sometime. A friend of a friend offered to buy the debt for the same amount. That had risk attached. I suspect I'd have seen less than that, if anything. Setting a thief to catch a thief's a plan, but you're still dealing with a thief, and possibly a very violent one. I am currently guaranteed £22,050 if and when he sells his house. I consider that a result. If I can get a force of sale on the right terms, that's the best anyone can expect. I'm looking into another option as we speak.
I'm interested to know how the Statutory demand works... can you give me more details? Could I go that route now?

Mike,
Where are you at with Planning Permissions? Have you got full planning permission? Outline planning permission? Has it lapsed? Any conditions on it?
Do you want to give me an outline and I'll see what I can do to help / point you in the right direction. PM me if necessary.
The local council will have a duty planning officer available if you want to go down and discuss with them.

Hi
An SD cost nothing to produce and can be posted.
Making someone bankrupt costs about £1500, assuming you do not use a lot of lawyers. Once BR everything they own becomes the property of the Official Receiver.
However, the OR cannot remove essential household items and in practice the OR is not interested in items that will not fetch money at auction. As a rule, they will allow a BR who NEEDS a car to buy one for about £1000, but if you read the BR forum, OR's have taken cars of a lower value and even wanted a collection of exotic spiders.
The BR has to release the Beneficial Interest in any property they own (re-mortgage) or sell. In some instances , if the cost of the mortgage exceeds the rental cost locally, the OR will force a sale even if there is little equity.
BRs also have to pay an IPA from their salary for three years unless their income is low enough to preclude this (less than £100 surplus a month).
Hiding assets get BRs into a lot of trouble and the OR can and will reverse payments (like putting money into the missus' bank account).
I do not know if you can still use BR now you have the charging order. I would suggest asking National debt line.
However I do know that an OR screwed up a compensation payment that an OP on the BR forum was hoping from someone who chose to go BR.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
