The more people I meet going through life, the more I wonder who's 'normal'. Everyone's normal until you get to know them. Then you realise the terrible things people you know have been through. Things I couldn't imagine tolerating, but they do. They manage, or they've put it behind them or found a coping strategy... but it's impossible not to admire them and be grateful it never happened to you...
I have to give up the reading for now but am enjoying it very much.

Yes, I always say you just deal with what you have as you know no different. It's only when other people start to know what's been going on, that you realise maybe it's not normal and actually it's an incredibly tough thing (or things) you have been dealing with. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, we just have to share them and support each other wherever possible. We are lucky to have so many good'uns on the DFW thread who will always give support, and advice if requested, even to first time posters.

    Come back whenever you can.

Update time form me:  in case you've all forgotten me. Am waiting for all the paperwork to go through for the new house. We will hopefully be picking up the keys on Saturday  and moving the following saturday . We are nowhere near ready or packed or anything. The flat has 4 walls, and a ceiling :j - actually it's quite a nice sweet but empty flat - this means buying of furniture - more expense. Sigh.
Oh I realied today that Henry the Hoover has brothers and sisters - Jame, Charles and Hetty. :rotfl:.
OH currently seems to have food poisoning  - ho hum - the fun never ends does it?
Hope everyone is having a slightly better weekend.

That's brilliant news! I envy you the walls and ceilings! That went through very quickly. Imagine having all new furniture... you'll get massive discounts now.

    Really well done!

Ahhh - we're only renting. We viewed on Monday and offered on Monday the rental amount wanted, filled in paperwork on Thurday and sent it special delivery so fingers crosed the referencing should happen soon! - well it better do as we've only got until Thursday. Eek.
Only problem with furniture is it's more expense. Will be buying a bed and a sofa and a freezer and everything else can wait for a while I think.

    Hello Merrywidow

Thanks and welcome. Sane? No problem (apart from these damn elephants).

Don't even mention something bigger bumping it off the schedules!

Don't be slagging the heffalumps! If you gave them more peanuts they'd be quite happy.

The benefits thing was a discrete problem, it had a beginning and a middle and an end. Most of the other things I've talked about on here don't have an end, and I'm worried that they won't. I will be perpetually somewhere in the 'middle of the story' and won't even know how far in the future the end is.

!!!! me, that was a bit deep.
We will now sing Psalm 22...

    Mrs Podges, if you please.

You're in charge of the story Mike! Make sure it's got a sound structure and the rest you can keep tweaking until it is just the way you want it. It does mean you need to keep writing through the blocks and that sometimes your pen runs out of ink at the worst possible moment... but the story can constantly be shaped and re-shaped and you are completely in charge of the ending you want!

DF - freecycle and the Brittish Heart Foundation kitted out my flat when I first moved in... I'm only now slowly replacing furniture so that it matches and is how I'd prefer it to be!

SB - the heels were fab!!!!! I could hardly walk up to the bar (so got my dad to take care of that for me!). But I mangaed to "dance" all night long (my brother and I discovered we "dance" the same way, and essentialy it's pretty much jumping up and down, either on the spot or around in a circle! :rotfl: So dancing is maybe too grand a word!).

I am now very tired! And need a cat nap before tackling the unpacking!

Hope every-one is well! I've got cup-cakes for the party (if they last that long! Though I can bake more. :) )

Where is every-one hiding this Sunday? She says groggily, having just woke up from her cat nap. Oh to be a cat!

I've been hiding in the kitchen being a domestic goddess, and I've just baked an enormous cake.
