I'll probably get up early and start creating a document map and some templates. Then I'll look up and it will be lunchtime! It's how I normally tackle things which scare me. Do a huge amount upfront to the exclusion of everything else. Then I feel I know more what's involved.

Sounds like a plan to me ;-) and i bet you a tin of evap it makes you feel high tomoro just getting stuck in there and doing it!!!

now kick me off this thread till i've written a couple of thousand words at least!!!!!

    Go and do some work.

I had a tin of Tesco Fruits of the forest at dinner and it was all forest and no fruit. I've drunk stronger Ribena and with more bits.

I mention this only because I tipped in a tin of Carnation (32p against 38p for Tesco's Own... get down there fast peeps).

    We like coincidences, don't we?

Here's one of a few that seem to be happening...

I used to do loads of work for a guy. I had to tell him when I got depressed a while back and we agreed I'd let him know when I was back begging for jobs. I haven't spoken to him for nearly a year. I didn't even know if his agency was still going.

I handed over the first bit of 'work' (just a design exercise) I'd played around with for about a year to the client this morning. (All seems to have gone down a storm by the way!)

And then within an hour who should ring...!

    That's just weird.

WHY WEIRD HUN? Work handed in that went down a storm ( as if we didn't know you're talented!!) and then a guy you used to do work for calls WITHIN an hour!!.

You are good at what you do, you've been out of circulation for a wee while but you haven't lost it!

PS I'm not charging either of them anything for these ideas.

A good way to ease your way back into it, the only one who doubts your capabilities is you! :)

PPS I'm OK with the first stuff I did but I am really scared about not being able to do the second thing well enough. It's like when I first got depressed - so hard to actually sit down and start. It's all come back to me. This is going to be a real challenge.

Breath!!.. This is a big step for you I know and it'll take time to feel at ease with it. Didn't you say last week how good you felt, that it was like exercising a muscle that's been unused. You set yourself such a high standard Mike and you have it in you to take on any challenge. This is something you know how to do....the real challenge was the shy & depressed Lisa letting people in!....Then we met this fella called MIKE..he kicked the DWP's butt, he called in a TV crew & put himself out there for all to see, he's taken on the legal system to fight this dodgy builder bloke, learning as he goes & knocking down every wall put in front of him, THAT WAS A REAL CHALLENGE! :)

They didn't ask Lisa for designs, they asked Mike & Mike's the man for the job. He's got an army of people at his back who aren't going to watch him fall and he can call on them anytime!!;)

hmmm this is proper scary stuff - all jokes aside its really really hard to find the strength to pick up something when ur maybe lacking in confidence and are scared you won't see it through. I have a few t shirts! but you know what right now I think the time is right for you for a bit of a challenge. Its pretty damm scary but i have this feeling you will make it, i see a new determination (cos i've known you now for like 50plus pages innit) and you have a huge sounding board for support. We can't always offer any practical advice but you now that we are ALL behind you every tiny step of the way and sometimes this little online community will be enough to keep you going - and if you !!!!!! it up.......we don't care we'll just pick you up and make you start all over again :D xx

:o Ooops...Or I could have just said ditto!.....Well said Saxy!:)
