Few questions for Iphone users.
I upgraded with o2 this week, coudn't get a line rental deal on any phone besides the iphone 3G. So I went for it intending to sell and buy an SE Aino.
I've had the iphone a few days now and the more I use it, the more I like it. Texting is actually a breeze and I'm texting just as quickly as I do with my W995, which I didn't think I would, with it being touch screen. Now I'm in two minds about selling.
But there's still a few things about it that bug me. Not being able to use my own ring/text tone. Battery life, lack of bluetooth etc.
So my question is, is it worth keeping? If I jailbreak it are their aps that will allow proper bluetooth file transfer? I know there's work around for ringtones and ways to maximise battery life, but bluetooth is a huge sticking point for me. That and the camera (compared to my last few phones (K800i, C905, W995) is pants, but no phone is perfect.
A lot of people say you should perservere and will eventually think the iPhone is the best phone ever. Has that been the case with you? Or can you not wait to get rid of it.
Okay, sorry for all the questions, I'm just looking for some opinions to help me make up my mind.

I've had my iPhone just over a year now and for me it's the best thing since sliced bread

It does have Bluetooth capability... look under Settings>General. If you're happy to jailbreak it then there's a whole world of apps out there that are much better and more adventurous
The camera is fine for impromptu shots... lack of zoom & flash is the main problem, but I've captured some pretty good shots with it when lighting has been favourable.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Its the king of phones......just jailbreak it.....Its a simple process, takes about 2 minutes on your own PC (Use blackrain)
There is a camera app which allows you to take 5m pixel photo's rather than your standard.
You can use Mover to swap photo's, files etc like bluetooth, but I think that is specific between iphones.....It does also have bluetooth in the settings like Chameleon says. There are also other apps.
Ringtones can be done - you just need to save the file as different file type....google it, it takes about 10 seconds to do, and you can use 30 seconds of any song for a ringtone (by which point the phone caller will of gone anyway).
If you jailbreak it - you can change your message tones easily, change the slider tones, change the wallpapers and screensavers and also change the layout of your iPhone (I.e. have 5 icons along the bottom of the iphone).
You can also change fonts, colours and downloads all sorts of wierd and wonderful apps. You can also download 3G unrestrictor which allows you to change the way that apps work....such as sky tv can be used over 3G, rather than Wi-fi only.......0 -
Have you tried the new iPad layout yet and shrink icons? Looks great!

Is there an ap that gives proper bluetooth usage? IE me being able to send and received files from ANY phone not just another iphone?
It's pretty much my biggest sticking point as I do use bluetooth quite a lot, and not with a headset.
Had a look last night and the tones aren't that much of a bother, they can be changed easily as can wallpaper, themes etc. Battery life will no doubt annoy me, but I;d get used to it.
So the general cosensus seems to be give it a chance?Sigless0 -
Dont think you can.....however just get them to email you the file & you can load things via your pc....
Seriously not many people look back once they have an iphone. Tens of thousands of apps make it awesome! Then you have the normal stuff like holding all your music, maps, proper sat nav, sky tv, emails, and many other useful things....0 -

Sky tv is now usable on 3G on non jailbroken phones aswell.0 -

You'll find loads on youtube... however, try this one:

If you don't like that one... just look through more of the same, as you'll get a few tips off a few at least.
