HTC Hero now or wait

My o2 contract is up for renewal.

I've moved house to an area with lesser o2 coverage so I'm planning to move to vodafone.

I've had my eye on the HTC Hero for months but now i read of otehr Android phones due out soon.

All my friends have an iphone, but much as they are nice I really want to keep my monthly cost down and the iphone would increase it to about £35.

Currently with o2 I pay £20 for 600 mins, 1000 texts.

Should i get the Hero now or wait for the new android phone?

As far as i can read the Nexus 1 is being launched as the HTC Bravo next month.

Your advice is appreciated...

yes the bravo is due soon, its basically the google phone but its called the bravo and the bravo is actually the same phone as the google nexus phone except the nexus possiblt has google branded on it. There are two more HTC phones due this year too. The Legend seems to be an updated version of the Hero. I've been waiting for the Bravo / Passion / Desire for a few months, so another 43 days or so won't hurt.

so for me, if that were the case then older phone it is?

Now could be a good time to grab a hero - its due an upgrade to 2.1 within the next couple of months. Plenty of time to get used to the phone and get ready for some 'rooting' and Rom flashing

I have just got the htc hero (T-Mobile G2 Touch) free on t-mobile:
    £25 per month
    900 mins
    unlimited texts
unlimited internet (which they say is 3gb allowance for Android phones)

I have been spending loads of time on the internet and 3gb seems to be more than enough for me.

Also bought an 8gb microsdhc card for £13 and have filled this with around 130 albums and the sound is great on the headphones.

It is the best phone i have ever had - a phone, mp3 player and internet in your pocket, i know people with the iphone but i prefer this one. The iphone is far too expensive, i did cosider the htc hd2 but i dont think the difference justifies the higher monthly rental cost.
