your responses are very interesting and making me more wary of the IVA but I need a solution to the mess I am in and have no choice but BR or IVA.
The IVA pack came through today and I have another phone appt with CCCVA next Friday
So Blue ... back to you ...
Is it next Friday that your meeting is?
You seem to already have a fair idea of what an IVA and Bankrutpcy entails.
When you speak with CCCVA and they go through the IVA, ask them also to explain Bankrutpcy to you and ask them to give you reasons why they feel one option might be better than the other for YOU!
Will you then do us a favour and come back to let us know how you got on and how threatening they were whilst putting the fear of God into you!
Good Luck with the meeting and if you need to run through the advice you get we'll be here to give our OPINIONSx

Hi all
Thanks for your posts.
My appt is next Fri, the IVA pack came yesterday but I have been told to wait until the appt before completing it.
I am a bit worried about my job, I am a support worker for a housing charity(should know better than to be in this mess!)
I don't handle finances as such but help people to access benefits, run through budget planning, deal with minor debts but mainly signpost onto CAB(I'm beginning to feel worse!)
I am scared to ask at work if my job is at risk if go BR.. am already feeling paranoid as my CRB check is up for renewal and it's been weeks and I haven't heard anything..other staff have theirs.
I am beginning to feel the pressure again as my mortgage provider and who I have an unsecured loan are onto me again despite the DMP.
Will keep you updated, sorry for waffling.
P.S to be fair CCCVA did not appear to be negative about BR.0 -
If anything it sounds like you'll be BETTER equipped to do your job by the time you've sorted through your problems, lol! Don't worry about waffling on here either... There's plenty of us like the sound of our own keyboard! Just be sure to keep up your mortgage payments - All other debts can suffer but maintain the mortgage! Chin up and good luck!Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

I'll agree with all that except to say that if you feel the need to repay creditors( and some genuinley do) then you still have that option in the BK and it's only for 3 years.0
