Help needed Re. poor reception on Orange.......

Hi,
I'm currently on orange and have been due an upgrade for some time but have been reluctant as my area is very patchy for signal strength and the last upgrade phone I got (samsung Tocca) was so useless at finding signal that I complained to orange executive and got them to take it back and my upgraded contract quashed.
I've no issues with orange and like the contract I am on, but just want a phone which is good at making and receiving calls! Are there any tech bods here who can suggest handsets which are worth considering?
I currently have a Sony ericsson k850i
TIA

If its anything like the k810i which I once had, I think those phones can damage easy or seem prone to bad reception if you are in buildings. No idea why.
For your problem - switching network is the best option.0 -
Or you could go for a UMA handset such as a Blackberry 8520, UMA means the calls route through your broadband connection, probably a better idea to switch networks though0

Thanks for the replies so far.
To clarify the K850i actually has decent signal but today one of the buttons broke which has dictated that i now need to upgrade.
Also changing networks is not an option either as they are all useless around here!0 -
I would follow drbesty's advice and ask for a UMA compatible handset. At least it will guarantee signal in your home.0
